Thing is, Lesley isn't a terrible dancer. If she was the joke contestant she'd prob be safe for longer like Ed. The fact she is actually quite good makes her more likely to go. Which is madness.

100% agree, she is by far the better dancer when compared to Ed and I would even say Rinder and Greg. But people who watch Strictly seem to love laughing at people and so they vote in the 'joke' acts over good dancers. Personally I think that's a sorry view of the general public, but thats just me.

I didn't watch live and have only just seen it on i player, and having read this thread beforehand I thought it was going to be absolutely awful, but it really was not as bad as I had imagined.

Tango is a hard dance to master as it is entirely different in technique to the other ballrom dances, different stance, different hold etc.

I loved the music, but I do love dancing to Gotan Project. The first thing that I saw is Lesleys awful left hand placement, but the biggest problem I had with the whole dance, was Antons choroegraphy.

I rarely critisise a Pro;s choreo but this for me did not work with the dance. Yes it was all authentic Tango which we all love to see but, in my opinion what he did was not phrased to the music. The groups he was dancing did not work with the music that was playing. He could have added in more slows, to accentuate the timing, some dramatic lines and shaping to work with the music. It was a boring routine, just full of quicks and because Lesley does not know how to use her feet well, - you need good floor pressure, she just looked weak and as though he was steering her through the routine. I would have liked her to have worked harder on her posture and stayed our in his right side more with a better head position. That said, difficult to master.

That's not QUITE the case. At the start of the series those who are entertaining stay in longer than those who are okay but a bit dull. By the end though (with the exception of series 1) they're gone. As the series continues, people tire of comedy routines and start to feel its fairer to vote for the better dancers. Happens every year.

I agree with this and always hope that the final includes the best dancers of the series.

Ed won't get voted out now because of that almost calamitous lift with Katya last night. Folks will be wanting him to stay in to see if he can attempt to drop her again. It's the typical You've Been Framed moment.

Some people really do like jokers. I like Ed and thought he was a pretty good education secretary, much better than Gove IMO. But the jokey, arsey bit is getting tedious for me.

Think Anton having her climb on the table a BIG mistake, looked awkward and set the tone of the dance.

Fingers crossed”

Lets be honest, if she was 21 instead of 71 she wouldn't have got the high marks she has had so far, but good luck to her, cant see her lasting long though.
