Yeah, that Rachel did a horrible Rumba..........lol
But she struggled in the early weeks being good but not 'connecting' or something. (I always thought she was fine, but I'm a massive Vincent fan). ![]() ![]() ![]() I was being really NICE about Louise, because I think she has potential. |

I enjoyed their rumba very much, it reminded me of Anton & Katie last year as it was more a ballroom rumba then a Latin one. Len summed it up when he said she is on a plateau.
I didn't mind Louise & Kevin's rumba, though I thought Kevin's choreography was time-wasting a bit, he could have done more. It just wasn't very memorable and Louise seemed a bit off-balance throughout it. In terms of comparing it with Rachel's, it wasn't even in the same league - I don't feel any connection with the audience at all from Louise, whereas Rachel had a bit. |

I think I've worked out what I'm missing in Louise's dancing. She needs a bit of balls, Ed Balls. Seriously. Ed always puts massive intent into his movements so even though he's not dancing well the crowd pick up on what's happening. Louise dances very neatly and often beautifully but the movements are no more than that, they lack intent.

Perhaps a bit of Kellie Brights OTT style is missing from Louise's dances. Heaven forbid!

for me it needed more hip action and she needed to caress the floor with her feet
Tbh I am becoming increasing bored with her week after week, she is so vanilla It's like she is just doing the steps, that's it, there is no warmth, no personality, she is almost robotic |

Just glad they have Rumba out of the way. Louise is a perfectionist and she worries about getting it right. Kevin is playing to this. He's pushing her but not too far. Some celebrities don't bother about mistakes and will act their way / gloss over it. Kevin does now need to step up a gear with Louise though. What's their next dance?

I like Louise and want her to stay but..... I found her smile throughout rather off putting, almost like she was embarrassed a time being sexy on national tv. But Len is right, everything she does is 'perfect' but as a result lacks any sparkle. I thought she looked fabulous though x hope she stays in an Kevin finds a way to get her to throw caution to the wind!

Get on - you and I both know Rachel did a FABULOUS Rhumba ( my forever favourite Rhumba ever)

Imho, Louise reminds me much more of Emma Bunton (watch out for the Paso face, lol). |

she is boring and boring to watch dance, if she showed more personality I would vote for her, therefore I won't miss her if she goes

I thought it was way overmarked and not worth the 9 from Bruno.

I think Louise is a very decent dancer, but she is just too cautious in her expressing sometimes. She knows it anyway, as she's already alluded to it outloud, but of course saying you're going to try and do something and then actually doing it aren't always easy if you're that tentative in your approach. I've seen Louise go full throttle esq in dancing (from her pop career) so she can def apply oomph/energy etc (be it measured) if she really wanted to. I get she's aware that her kids are watching and she doesn't want to embarrass them or her husband, but she's not doing that anyway, and so she can loosen the fear a bit more. Maybe she needs a pep talk from someone that has a tendency to always get 'it' out of her.
I think she's still better than plenty in there so would, just for her talent, pref she stay over some others, but I think she needs to step even further forward. Her dancing is decent, nice, even pleasant, but she needs to add the sparkle (as cheese as that sounds). She has it in her, she can diversify, but the limitations are all in the head for her, which is a shame if she doesn't get past that. |

There is no such thing as a "ballroom rumba" - rumba is a Latin dance! If you mean soft rather than sexy, then that's a different matter.

Actually I meant what I said. I know many ballroom dancers ( the terminology used in general for people who dance the dances performed on strictly be they ballroom or Latin) including teachers who refer to a ballroom rumba meaning one which is performed in line with competition rules as opposed to "sexy" as you put it.

I've found it with a lot of her dances so far. She's clearly one of the best dancers, but most of them I've struggled to remember.

I find the whole 'journey' story they're trying to push for really odd.
The way the judges structure their comments around her, talking about her needing to push herself now. It's as though the show wants her to win and the judges have been given their scripts to give her a kick up the arse because she isn't performing as well as they'd like. I've never known them to bang on about a celebrity needing to up their game as much as they do with Louise. |

She is probably the best dancer out of the celebs but you would expect that as this was part of her career for a very long time. However I do think they are overmarking her. Which isn't fair on the others.

I thought it was fine. A little insusbtantial and she didn't move her hips much, but fine. I did find it funny that they came for her last week telling her that she needed to up the wow factor and the oomph and all that and then she immediately got a rumba to an incredibly subdued song. I think they did something similar to somebody else last year or the year before and it didn't make sense then either. Quote:
