I think it's as BT claim that powerline adapters don't support 4K or UHD as some call it.
I don't have a 4K/UHD TV just two Samsung full HD smart TVs but would have got the 4K/UHD box for the extra hard drive space if it was not for the cost of the installation free. As will as an engineers visit. I sometimes take the BT Youview G4 box up to my bedroom at night to watch extra channels Avis BT TV if I know dads finished with the TV for the night. In living room I use box with powerline adapters but in my bedroom I use box with Ethernet cable as Home Hub 3 is in my bedroom. I do have the old BT Youview T1000 that I also use just as a Freeview PVR and for the free catch up players. Darren |

I think their mentioning on the website about engineer visits is mainly aimed at new customers. Saying that, the UHD box is the 2nd BT STB I've had, the first (the 500gb G4) arriving when I first upgraded to Infinity fibre. The Openreach engineer who came to set me up for Infinity told me he couldn't/wouldn't set up my TV box, only the broadband. Which was fine, as there was no engineer charge for TV installation and the whole set up of YouView is a piece of cake anyway. At least it was for me, though I am fortunate that my Home Hub is very close to my TV, hence no need for trailing long Ethernet cables or needing powerline adapters. |
