For me, tonight's show was the worst of the series so far.

I thought this week lacked something maybe because some of the songs were a bit dull.

Anastacia improved and was lovely. That's about it.

There's always the odd 'flat' show around this time in the comp.

Par for the course.

Ed's wobble....oh and there was the dummy with the dummy, the most charmless ventriloquist act in my living memory.

I agree with the OP. I felt the show was rather flat and dull tonight. I kept hoping that a couple would come on and wow me with their routine, but it never happened.

I felt some of the song choices were partly to blame. The music was just really bland when compared to some of the earlier weeks.

I felt judge Rinder and Oksana were pretty entertaining, but it then went downhill.

Judging was just crazy, comments very critical and then high scores, it needs a refresh.

agree with the OP , thought song choices were very poor tonight , along with the dancing , didn't like danny and oti , didn't like claudia and aj , Ed didn't need to be given a jokey american smooth and greg and lesley just both had a dance that wasn't for them and Laura Who ? proves how unforgettable she is

No, as the series goes on, and the dancing is at a typically high standard the judges get more nick-picky, so the scores maybe high but they have something to criticise.

Eds lift and nearly breaking Katya was the highlight ! Once I knew she survived I laughed at the sheer horror .

There were a couple of nice dances in there, but generally it was a dull show.

I was more concerned that he was going to steady her by inadvertently grabbing a boob.

Or send her spinning into the judges' desk at the end.

I did enjoy it as usual but the most riveting part was whether Ed would drop Katya or not.

If it's true that a few of them are under the weather then I guess it would explain the lack luster feeling to it. I also think some of the celebs are getting a bit tired now. They need something to get their mojo going again - maybe Halloween will do that, something they can have fun with.

The scoring seemed a bit haphazard and didn't seem to fit with the comments?

For me Daisy was one of the most enjoyable tonight., loved the blacked out start.

Agree completely. Probably the performers were all a bit down in the dumps with illness injuries etc but I couldn't get enthused at all this evening

Agreed. I spent most of the show browsing the Internet - something I never do when SCD is on.

I loved the show. It had everything great dancing, some ropey lifts, messing up routines. That's what keeps us watching. If they were amazing every week what's the point of the show?

Yes I thought the judges scoring was all over the place too. They seemed critical and then gave high marks a number of times.

Aside from Rinder, in almost every case you could've said "it's not their dance"

Agree. It seemed rather lacklustre tonight. Anastacia danced well and I loved her hair and dress. She danced well with Gorka.

Maybe the injuries and illness is getting to everyone.

It was very disappointing. A lot of the performances were reasonably competent, but lacklustre and not quite getting the essence of the dance style. Can't think of one performance I really liked.

This year promised so much, but I agree this week in particular wasn't the best.

I thought it was just me! Yes, totally agree. Think Len agreed too - didn't he say something after Claudia and AJ about the last act just getting the party started. The only one with any oomph at all for me was Daisy and Aljaz. And I'm not getting the brilliance that everyone seems to think Ore has.

Anyone else think the lighting is a factor - seems darker or something lately?

Agree that the music really didn't help: Danny's Rumba had to be whippy to keep in time, shame as his continuous motion was good. And Claudia's Samba was a ridiculous pace.
Looking forward to the pro-group Charleston tomorrow, rehearsal footage looks like really good fun.

I have to agree about the scoring.

Last Saturday's show was very good with a number of great performances. Tonight just felt like everyone had taken a massive step back but yet the judges were scoring them as if it were the quarter finals.

Sorry but if a couple do well in week 2 and score for e.g. 30 points but are really average the following week they should be marked accordingly.

I also felt some contestants were overmarked. it's as if the judges scoring is also rehearsed and they already know what they're going to score each celebrity and just hope they pull if off on the night.

Imagine Danny messing up in the quarter finals and his entire performance is a car crash on live TV. Then you get Darcy or Bruno saying "oh but I was supposed to be giving you a 10 tonight but you fell twice".
