For me, tonight's show was the worst of the series so far.

IMO the problem is caused because of a complete lack of personalities in the Pro's or the Celebs especially the Pro's as they are all scared to give their opinions to the Judges as Len would jump down their throats. Bring back Mr Jordan at least he was not a Robot..

BIB All bar Anastacia & Gorka.

Anastacia improved, but there were no stand out performances for me. Rinder always comes out with huge enthusiasm but his shoulders are always up round his ears and he's altogether too clumpy. I was enjoying Ed's dance until he almost dropped Katya
No one danced well IMO tonight and agree about the over marking.

I agree that Anastacia's was the only wow dance of the night amidst a rather lacklustre show, but I think it's just an unfortunate cluster of events:
Brendan's ill and MIA,
Laura's injured and MIA,
Gio's feeling a bit of a spare part,
Danny's face looked red and blotchy and made me wonder if he's full of cold,
If so, others will be suffering from lurgy too and will be knackered which might be why some choreo and/or dancing was sub-par,
And that ventriloquist was just not funny. Really. Tumbleweed.

I was watching some old SCD's on youtube last night and came across a dance by Ian & Zoe Ball which the judges did not agree on and the row that errupted between the judges was jaw dropping! I can't remember it being like that! It's pretty tame now.

It was definitely a bit of an underwhelming show although to be honest after seeing the songs/dances that everyone had and watching bits of training footage, I wasn't that surprised. With Ore & Danny having slow dances the chance of them producing a 'wow' routine was a lot less IMO and add in some dire music choices - well it wasn't a winning formula! I have hope that Halloween will be better though.

Fair play to Judge Rinder though who stole the show for me - but a shame he was on first as most of what followed seemed so bland by comparison!

Did you see the clip where Arlene is rude to Kelly Brook and Brendan flips like crazy and the whole panel gets into an argument?

LOL I thought that too.

"I'm gonna have to read this bit because my puppet can't pronounce his p's"

Tumbleweed indeed. You could tell from the audience's lack of laughter that they didn't find him funny.

Yeah, I would agree. I think just a combo of circumstances contributing to this. The dancing, bar one or two, was average, so no such joys of last week where the dancing felt really promising with some. Ore and Danny danced well, but neither of their dances (imo) were of the same impact. Rumba can still be capturing despite being slow and romantically moodful ( think Kara and Artem did a very decent one where music also really helped), but sometimes it can be... nice (and you can appreciate the content/succession of moves and steps) but leave you with a bored feeling, and that's sort of what Danny's Rumba did. Ore's dance was nice, but after his Jive and dancing in the rain routine, it was nice but less exiting. Not a fall back, more a side step of progression/impact, though obv still a very decent attempt (given he's still behind Danny in terms of prior dancing background).

On top of less engaging dances, the Brendan, Laura and Gio absence from the floor added to it somewhat. Obv if you're a Gorka fan then it would have prob been exciting to see him on the floor again (in this capacity), but it was of no real viewing relevance to me whether it was Gorka, Neil or even Pasha. Im not particularly a fan of Gio, or Brendan, but as they're still in the comp it felt a gap of something them not being there. Laura isn't the best dancer, but given she's still better than some of the others left, it would have been nice to see her. Hope she is back next week, purely just because others are still worse than her, so she's still got a realistic opportunity to improve more.

The scores were too high for lots of the dances too, imo, paddle happy the panel this year. More average scores (3-6) would have made more sense imo. So a combo or uneventful dancing, weird scoring and missing bodies. Oh yeah, and the terms and conditions guy, he wasn't very good at his 'talent' his mouth was obvious on the move.

I have to admit I was falling asleep, and gave in and went to bed after Daisy's dance. I'll watch the last three this morning. I agree, it was lacking sparkle and energy tonight, but so was I.

Everybody keeps going on about that, but GG's samba last year was to a similar pace.

But yes, I found this show a bit of a snoozefest.

It was a real disappointment to me. So far this has been one of my favourite series & I hope this week was just a blip. I am not a fan of the rumba and having two this week didn't really help my enjoyment (this is the first week I've not voted for Danny).
All would be well though (in my head) if we can just get rid of Balls - I really don't understand people who find him "entertaining".

agree, bit of a pedestrian episode. I watched on catch up and thought that might be affecting my judgement, but perhaps not

As said before I think it was a good show.

I think it's a bit like going to a restaurant , the first time, you get surprised, maybe flowers, maybe chocolates, and feel fantastic. So you go again, get the flowers get the chocolate but expect it, your expectations have gone up.

The theme weeks boost the show, but a bit like post Christmas when the decorations go down it feels slightly flat.

I think the standard is very high, and with the " funniest " stars going for more serious dances the comedy side was slightly less.

We have Halloween to look forward to next week.

God knows what they will get Ed Balls doing next week, if he's still in. I wouldn't mind betting he is still around at Blackpool.

Yeah it was a bit of a drag last night, and that rubbish ventriloquist and his stupid puppet didn't help! Why has the T's & C's announcement become a thing they have to make a big fuss about?

I guess they have to read it and Claudia decided to find a different way to do it each week.

i think the puppet was needed to waste a bit of time (as they were one dance down)

Probably a last minute booking.

It was the most exciting moment of the night!

Daisy, Anastacia and Louise seemed to do better this week than last.

Yes, poor Kelly was doing her best to hold back the tears and keep Brendan in check.

This is the link (hopefully) to the judges reaching fisticuff point, after Zoe & Ian's Paso Doble

I have come to really appreciate Ed Balls He may not have grace or any natural ability, but he gives it his all, as does Robert Rinder. I would like to see Ed, Robert & Lesley get to Blackpool because I think they deserve it.

I doubt Claudia would be left to make a decision like that. The show probably needs filler now that they are a dancer(s) down
