I know he's committing crimes to dancing but is Katya in danger of serious injury during their routines?

Absolutely not. He couldn't manage the lift in that moment and so did not try it. That's being safe.

Gosh she came close tonight didn't she? I was watching from behind a cushion when they did it the second time

Surely the pro makes that call? Why teach him the lift if you don't/can't trust him to do it?

Its her career that will go down the tubes if he drops and badly hurts her.

Exactly; if he'd tried knowing it would go wrong he would be, but he wisely aborted it.

I read this as: Is Ed Balls Dangermouse?

Thought you had inside info on his next theme

I was a bit worried for Katya's safety. Loved the audience reaction though and it certainly spiced things up

Silly girl trusting a novice with 4 lifts . I thought Ed had some dancing in him but showed tonight he just hasn't .
He's the worst dancer by a long way and time for him to go .

Yeah, but then after the dance he did the lift... And to be honest although he just about managed it, I was no more confident in his ability to lift her up than on the first attempt...

Are Ed's balls dangerous?

More like:

Has Ed Ball's pro got a death wish?

It's up to her after all.

I don't think her outfit helped as it looked quite slippery fabric. It looked awkward but she was safe enough. A lift too far I think. The last floor spin made me chuckle because he was spinning her so hard that she was a couple of inches off the floor, if he had let go of her then she would have landed in the clauditorium. Still fun with added cringe.

You'd have to ask Yvette...

problem is giving him a joke dance/song every week doesn't help - he had a nice waltz first week and could have had a nice american smooth - but they gave him amarillo to dance too (who ever did that wants sacking) - which was always gonna be for the joke element rather then the dance -

when Balls bungled his lift, he felt a right tit. He should have felt the left one.

wot a carry-on!

No, the lift just went wrong, that's all. I felt no concern for Katya, I thought it fell into the humour category rather than one of fear for Katya. Production would have seen the training and I doubt would have allowed anything dangerous to get to the lives.

Katya looked like she had done a 90 minute cycle in a tumble dryer after that lift - What a mess, I think it was more her that wanted to get down rather than Ed knowing his limit.

To prove the point, Ed does the lift after the dancing is ended and even then he was shaking like a shitting dog.

He needs to dance in hold, too much joking around. We need to see some series dancing by him.

Well so far 74% think Ed is NOT dangerous - Guess this is one poll Ed Balls is going to win!

I feared Katya was going to get injured in that botched lift, but it would have been as much her fault for putting it in the routine as it would have been Ed's for failing to execute it. Completely unnecessary, and at the detriment of not showing off the actual foxtrot content which he did pretty well at the start of the routine!

I agree, another mis-matched music to dance . How a novice is expected to do a waltz to such inappropriate music beggars belief .

C'mon!!

Concern about Katya aside, that was the unwitting highlight of what was otherwise a very dull episode!

Maybe Katya is a danger to Ed Balls, giving her lifts he can't handle.
