From the ITV website, and I think the stunt would have been much better if they had stuck to this.

I think they drew it out a bit too long, the Platt's surrounding the car could have been quicker, and the weird shots of him in the car were unnecessary and ruined the flow and build up of the stunt.

I also don't think we saw enough of Gary saving Lily or the car hitting the skip, which would have added to the human side. Too much time was spent on organising the lifting of the car up also, which gave it a 1970s sitcom feel, which was jarring.

Also I can't remember the salon windows smashing, or the jerry can landing at Anna's feet and then exploding (or maybe my memory's going). I think these would have added to the tension and effect. Anna wasn't in flames for long enough either for us to believe it was serious, it only seemed to go up to her knees.

I think with some more thought and clarity it could have been done better and maybe the inclusion of the stunt director was unnecessary and actually a hindrance, ie the David scenes.

Just my opinion, I also want to post my thoughts on Friday's Emmerdale and Corrie because they've stayed with me.

The salon windows did indeed smash. The jerry can also landed at Anna's feet and the flames spread rapidly I still can't get over how gruesome it was

And well done Debbie Rush for doing her own stunt.

Wow, looks like it was originally much worse for Anna. That would have been too graphic for the time slot.

I thought the container was about to explode again, I don't see why it didn't.

We also never saw the salon damaged, only later on when the fire crew knocked the glass out. .

The details in the drawings is amazing. His caricatures of David and Nick are spot on.

I wonder if they filmed it but due to time constraints had to drop it?

The storyboard makes it sound a lot better. Love the idea of the jerry can flying towards the camera and debris raining down onto the Street. Shame they didn't follow it.
