Its funny but I would have thought that Ore would have more support given that he is beating the Uber Ringer Danny for the last couple of weeks. Personally I would prefer him as a winner over Danny who has been competent at a high level but has not shown a wow dance yet.

I would find the constant blubbing a bit annoying whether it was a man or a woman.

And, as pointed out, I think we've watched so many reality shows that we're primed to think it's an attempt to manipulate the audience.

If only he had been with another pro (someone with more "fire" like Oksana, Katya or Iveta) I think he would come across better.
Joanne is a fabulous ballroom dancer but has a extremely sweet sort of nature that combined with Ore emotions (nothing wrong with them) makes them too much for some people.
Yep the screwed up with (emotional) pain face and the tears are deffo too much for me.

You don't think his QS was incredible?

Not on here - I think support for ringers on here tends to be a lot higher than you'd think. Also, Ore got compared to Jay, so that put him on a few bad books with the whispers about 'fixes' and 'overmarked' and the like coming out.

I like Ore - he's a nice guy and I don't have an issue with him being emotional. I get emotional as well so it doesn't bother/horrify/confuse me when I see someone else get caught up. I like Danny too - I think they're about equal so far, both with brilliant dances and I really want both to make the final.

I have to admit, Ore is very marmite and he's not exactly my cup of tea on the show. After one of his dances in the first weeks, his OTT phobia "reaction" to the clay bird was when I noticed he got on my nerves. Obviously I'm aware it was a joke on both sides but he just came across as cringey.

I don't think it helps him being partnered with Joanne. She's always come across as OTT for me, ever since she was partnered with Scott on the launch show and dived on to him, spinning him round in a ballroom hold.

Just a marmite pairing, there's often one a series.

Good yes but given his background not unexpected and overshadowed by Ore

I don't mind the crying - I think it's genuine. It shows how seriously he's taking it all. I appreciate that. I can see how it might be annoying to some if he's still doing it in 4 weeks time, though.

Last night, I found him to be obviously overmarked and I feel like we're going to be manipulated into an Ore v Danny situation. I like them both, prefer Danny & Oti just a smidge, really going to be annoyed if we end up with this 'storyline'.

I do think he's going to have to pull back from getting all tearful every week or he will suffer a backlash.
has he stopped crying yet??
Four nines ain't too shabby, ore...get over it.

I'm on the fence about Ore. I like him, but then he goes a bit OTT and I'm not sure again. I think he was overmarked last night, but disagree he was expecting 10s. I thought he was expecting much worse from the judges and was confused by their comments.

Agree that there's a danger the judges will push viewers away from them if they continue to gush. I see that they want to make this a competition with Danny, but like Kellie last year and Dr Hammy years ago, it will backfire.
Who's Dr Hammy?

I wouldn't have given that dance 9s no. But then Louise was overmarked with 8s, Ore was better and so 9s it is. I don't see the 'overmarking' as an Ore problem. They simply started too high and had to give scores that reflected the comparative performance of the couples.

Him being emotional doesnt bother me one bit, the training and dancing is taxing. I most likely would be a ball of tears after each dance.

I know it will be used against him though, because he's getting praise and is competing for the top spot.

Pamela Stephenson. I think she was renamed Dr Hamela/Dr Hammy because of her fake reactions and 'prayer hands of thanks' to the judges comments etc..

I understood his emotions the first few times he dances , he was overwhelmed but it's tedious now .....every week we get the" is he or is he not going to cry" routine from Tess . I also think he is overmarked and Joe his partner I find very cold....not a fan of this pairing .

i think Ore is a good dancer and a remarkably handsome man, working hard and good luck to him. But I do think it is in his interests to behave in his interviews a bit more like he does in his presenting job, where he seems lighter, more sensible and he's very likeable. I think generally men and women celebs are criticised on scd if they seem very dramatic and I think Ore has sometimes slipped into a sort of award acceptance speech manner that I wouldn't say is annoying but I do find a bit odd.

But that might be because I think he's overmarked. When he got his comments from the judges for the jive I felt like I was watching the XFactor, that feeling I get when someone is being promised they are going to be a star and you know the judges will forget them 5 minutes after the credits. I felt sad for him but also manipulated. Perhaps that's why the crying worried me, because I already felt I had slipped into the XFactor by mistake. Of course Ore doesn't decide his marks, and people who loved his dances will also feel differently to me about the emotion.

he needs to stop the blinking tears

whether they are real or not a don't care - I am just become bored of seeing him cry all the flipping time

also thought he was over marked last night - disliked their waltz

Meh. Danny's annoyed me since day one but this board seems to worship him.

Agree. Well, he doesn't annoy me. As a personality I find him inert. But I agree the forum seems to adore him.

We saw the same thing last year when many people were convinced that the series-long frontrunner was simultaneously the underdog. Rinse and repeat

I liked him at launch but he's gotten a bit annoying since then. I feel like he's a contender for a shock boot.

I feel it's others now feeding into the emotional stuff, if you notice the past couple of weeks he has been trying to divert attention away but Tess has to keep pointing it out.

How can anyone call this guy the underdog he is the clear favourite at the moment. None of his dances are under 30 marks.

The only thing he has not done is have a clear breakout dance.

He reminds me too much of Susanna or even Peter for that matter; too camera ready, always has to be in the shot in the tesspit, too media trained ....he's a decent dancer though but not close to Danny like the judges made it seems.
