We were taught the Gay Gordons and the St Bernards Waltz at primary school.

Pamela Stephenson. I think she was renamed Dr Hamela/Dr Hammy because of her fake reactions and 'prayer hands of thanks' to the judges comments etc..

I believe he went to a school which had its own theatre. I cannot believe he didn't do some form of theatrical performance in the time he was there.

When I went to high school in the US we had to learn ballroom dancing - only cha cha, waltz, foxtrot and Viennese waltz. Ore may have studied movement which is common in theatre schools.

He didn't go to theatre school, though. He went to a posh school with amazing facilities - including a theatre

And Zoe in her year, they constantly marked her high and praised her. She didn't win and I think that might have been why.
I don't have a problem with Ore showing emotion, I'd far rather people did demonstrate they're being affected by what they're doing that turn out a robotic "demonstration" level dance. He was overmarked this week though in my view. |

Got to love any school with an endorsement from Tatler on the front page.

Zoe's year was a bit of a funny one though so I don't think it was because of the judges' "favouring" her. She was an exceptional dancer but she also had a lot of competition from two blokes who definitely hadn't fit the mould before the show started and couldn't possibly be thought of as ringers.

He was overmarked this week though in my view. They did similar character assassinations to Abbey and Caroline late on too, but now we're kind of used to it! Shame as Zoe's paso show dance was better than Darren's and Colin's. (I still feel for Erin, bless her, when all she was trying to do was prove Col was completely capable of leading). Erin and Natalie...glitterball recipients in a just world

I think it is pretty obvious Ore has not had any dance training, Only a fool would go on ITT and deny it if they had, he also had no hesitation in calling James Jordan out on twitter either.
What most people over look is that he took sport science in University and I think that will help him understand what is required when being taught by Jo ie he will understand where his body weight should be and how to use his legs etc and has probably made it quicker to teach him |

I could be wrong, in my old age, but I thought Zoe got flak in the press. Didn't they run a story about her having had dance lessons before taking part in the show?

I was rooting for him pre series, and although I am in the minority (I liked his tango and his cha cha) so have liked 4/5 routines (not keen on waltzes full stop) I do not find he comes across as well as, say, Greg or Daisy.
The poor bugger cannot win to be fair - he started off as confident/mock nervous and people went Arrogant....now he is doing well but going for humble/ mock surprise and lots of Feelz and people are telling him to Man Up. Someone put it far better in Post of the day, how hard it is to be a contestant in terms of how you come across. I like his dancing very much but am not finding him easy to warm to. Not insincere just something a bit...forced, although I did laugh at the protest too much ''Jo, my old mate, my partner, my mucker'' bollocks which just needed a brotherly head rub. No Strictly Curse here. But I know why he felt the need to do that. Louise is also not doing it for me. Kevin kissing her on the forehead in a rumba made me snort. It's a dance of love, passion, not brother-sister platonic nothing to see here either guff. Danny with the ''I wasn't expecting that'' mantra (shit mantra, shit song) is also doing my head in (or was that Ore too? they are interchangeable) I like Danny when he delivers the shit punchline in his vts with a weary acceptance that he's in cahoots with the producers. I prefer confident/I'm decent to I was so nervous though. It all comes down to authenticity. Greg doesn't come over as faking. Nor does Daisy.
