What that bird was doing should be shown after the watershed.

The birdy dance. Looks like a Cheryl Fernando Versini video.

I was thinking Clangers. Rather stern Clangers.

Ooh, photobomb crabs.

Opening shots are Fantastic.
Agreed, fabulous video BUT audio soundtrack only Dolby Digital Pro Logic, I wonder why?

When available, my amp decodes DD 5.1 on most Virgin Media HD channels, TV Freeview HD and TV Smart app Netflix.HD

Amazing short coming by the BBC!... however still tremendously impressive sound especially that of the pounding sea. Wonder what it would sound like in Dolby ATMOS?. Probably mind blowing!.

How do the cameras get so close to the action and get the shots of the preying birds flying in to grab a baby penguin.

It's a trick of editing, mostly.

50 mile swim, 2 mile walk for the penguin. Kind of puts human achievements in perspective.

When the last series was on, there was a short segment at the end of each ep to tell you how it was filmed. I remember when the filmed the penguins before, the cameras were set up and left for weeks so they got used to them being there.

edit: they're doing the diaries again with this series.

I'd quite happily watch a full episode of the diaries, I find the filming really interesting.

But how do they get the cameras to fly in like that? Are the cameras disguised as birds? Oh here we go. They are showing behind the scenes now.

They'll just use a drone, probably with wings.
