Utterly brilliant last night. Awesome cinematography and soundtrack. It pulled in 9.2 million last night which is totally amazing. Have already ordered the Blue-Ray.

Anywho, what a programme! For me, the narratives add to the experience. No soundtrack/narration loudness or quietness issues either. David was great as usual - guess my ears work fine ”

Same here... My £200 Denon amp handled it wonderfully

Actually it didn't occur to me to turn on my sound system. I really only bother for a TV programme if the music is the primary component, such as the Proms. However after reading comments here, I shall make a point of doing just that next week.

(My sound system is part of my BluRay Home Cinema.)

I like the fact that we get less blood and guts and more 'animals escaping from their predators'.

Brilliant programme, as expected. Disappointing that there's no way of viewing it via the BBC in it's 4k glory though, I'd hoped maybe the Iplayer may make it available in UHD like Netflix and Amazon Prime do for some content, but no.

The sequence did remind me of the stop-motion animation work from the legendary hands of Ray Harryhausen.

I was shouting those exact words at the telly last night Totally compelling viewing and those snakes were like something out of a horror film. I was blown away by the whole thing. Nature really is amazing.

Yes, I know it's the circle of life and all but I do tend to root for the underdog, so I always enjoy seeing a miraculous escape! I loved it when that baby iguana managed to wriggle free

I hate seeing animals eating each other and even though I know they have to, to survive, I still find myself hoping they outrun their prey and escape. So I was happy the iguana managed the great escape

Great tv and beautifully shot.

Such an amazing program, But I find it hard to watch fighting and killing of creatures. Like the snakes wrapping round the baby things on the sand....

Other than that, i love it.

Its coming to iPlayer in UHD soon, the BBC have confirmed an update, just no confirmed date as yet. The original series debuted in SD in March 2006 and we had to wait until May to see it on BBC HD.

I was gutted when it ended. Of course watching it in 60 inch HD with surround sound helps..made it a real event

Penguins are my new heroes

One sad fact to remember though is that more people were probably watching crap factor on the other side.”

There was no 5.1 surround sound. Just stereo sound.

Just had it running at work on various TVs from iPlayer using the built in speakers & also home cinema systems. Sound was fine on them all within there own limitations.

would of liked to have seen how the tv crew managed to film the snake section and wonder if the snakes went after them as well.

They wouldn't want you looking after them.

Did anyone that he said that the Komodo dragons weigh 'an impressive 150lb'.

Doesn't sound right to me... that's nothing...less than 11 stone... must have meant kilos surely?

How do you know? They might prefer to live in a zoo and be fed rather than hurl themselves off cliffs and watch their babies be threatened with starvation or death by skua on a daily basis.

I enjoyed the programme, especially the amazing snakes.
But I'm starting to get the feeling that they're going a little over the top with the added sound effects in nature documentaries now.

Racer Snakes. We all know where they get their name. It's the first to catch the prey...or in the case of the lucky baby iguana!!
