That must be different - everyone likes Leslie and you know, clearly Kevin must've got a free trip because of Clifton bias. 🙄

Why would the other dancers have been furious? Because they didn't get to spend 2.5 hours on a train, do some very embarrassing dancing in amongst a load of bored tourists, then turn round and spend another 2.5 hours on a train, then probably go and do some actual training so that their day wasn't a complete waste? It's not like they flew them out to the Maldives.

So I'm the only one who thought at least some of those shots of them dancing in Paris were CGIed? I thought like someone else upthread that one of them (most likely Louise) had something in Paris, hence the excuse for the VT.

Maybe they'll wheel out the Eiffel Tower prop again in a couple of weeks and say it is Blackpool Tower.

It hardly ruined BBC, but it was one day less for training. I wonder if they tell the celebs, that they can't train today, because they are doing silly things instead.

There is no way that shots like this or this are CGI or greenscreen.

Crikey, if they used your money to finance the trip I'm not surprised you're not happy.

Exactly. I'm not sure why they would've suddenly deployed amazing CGI technology that they've never used for any of the other embarrassingly bad VTs - unless this is another Clifton conspiracy.... special effects favouritism

No, complete waste of money.
Why didn't they just dance under a big picture of the Eiffel Tower in their training room.

Couple frequently appear in the VTs from various parts of the UK where the celebrity has been working, I would not be surprised it it costs as much to film those.

The cost of the trip is peanuts compared to the total cost of the series/

Wouldn't that cost more than the trip to Paris?

Anyway, it brought back a few memories of my last visit there many years ago, so I enjoyed it

Completely unnecessary! I hate all of these scripted comedy sections. I miss the days of just seeing the couples rehearsing. It must take them out of training for at least one afternoon.

I don't know of one person who enjoys these scripted "comedy" sections.

More rehearsal please.

It's Paris. It was a total waste of time but It's quicker and sometimes cheaper to get there than Birmingham.

Lesley was in Malta filming for Birds of a Feather so Anton had to go there. They haven't said who paid for this so he may have paid for it himself.

I would understand if work commitments meant that the pro had to travel so the training could be done, which was the case for Anton /Lesley as she was at the end of filming her show . Louise and Kevin...well that was just a waste of money, they danced a rumba to the Michael Buble version of 'Always on My Mind' , no Paris connection apart from the studio backdrop being of the Eiffel Tower.

I have seen some moany threads on here but this takes the biscuit if any of the other couples besides one involving a clifton had gone there would probably been no mention

Let's just be glad that of all the phallic symbols they chose Eiffel tower, they could have been travelling somewhere else.

I am sure they are grateful that you were happy to pay for their trip.

Seriously? You're saying that a pro dancer might have to pay his own travel expenses to go to where his celeb is? Rofl. Home to studio is probably a dancer's own cost to cover but hardly an airfare and accommodation costs to Malta... or Paris.

No hotel to pay for, the transport wouldn't be that much. If she'd had to be doing a dance where going to Newcastle would be necessary, it's further and probably more expensive to to get there. Nobody would say anything. It just set the scene, probably only there 2-3 hours. It's an entertainment show not the news.

There are some examples on Youtube of US TV shows with precisely that sort of CGI.

I have often gone to Paris for the day for £65 on eurostar by grabbing one of their special deals. I suspect that each couple has a set budget for the VT and their trip fell within it.
