Could Judge Rinder win?

Only if he gets to the final. He is some way off being the best celeb dancer so it will all rest on his popularity with the public. If he remains out of the dance off then I suspect that he will have a good chance of winning.

Chris was better than the Judge - I love the judge but he has really weird bandy legs that make it impossible to take him seriously as a dancer. I think he'll get to Blackpool and possibly as far as the quarter or maybe even the semi final but not beyond that and even if he makes the final - the public didn't vote Katie the winner in spite of her being popular and a few wanting the best for Anton.

As much as I hate to admit it (mainly because Rinder REALLY annoys me), I think he could win.

I'm getting shades of Series 7 Rebooted with Rinder in the Chris Hollins role, Danny as Ricky Whittle and Ore as Ali Bastian(!)...in other words, this year, the two best dancers by far will cancel themselves out leaving the crowd-pleaser to storm to victory.

I also think Len hit the nail on the head a couple of weeks ago when he said Rinder has the right balance of comedy (allegedly) and dance ability and to not go changing.

Having said all that, I will never be so happy to be so wrong!

Though I am sure many more people find Rinder very annoying with his gurning and general vain attitude.

I sincerely hope not.

Only, as has been said, if he avoids the DO. I cant see him being saved over anyone else, other than Ed.

I think people are really harsh on Judge Rinder. People say they want less 'ringers' - well he's what you're left with; someone who has raw potential and bags of enthusiasm but isn't very polished. When you're learning to dance I doubt you worry much about things like facial expressions as you're focussing on the footwork and remembering the steps! I don't see the 'comedy contestant' thing at all - he probably reminds me more of Jake Wood, someone who is a bit of a rough diamond but could throw some shapes on a dancefloor without choreography and look decent!

I can't see him winning but would be very happy if he did, I think he's great.

I think he's a good dancer, for a beginner - I am not put off or concerned re his facial expressions. He is enjoying himself and not doing it for comic effect.

I also think he could improve hugely, if he had the time, but from what he said last week, they only have a hour or two on the Monday ( same as everyone else, I know ) and they have Tuesday.
Then JR said he is doing his day job Wednesday and Thursday.

Then they have Friday, but by then they are at Elstree, so yes he can train, but they must have to share training times, using the floor, so not the same as a dedicated 5 or 6 hours in the training room.

I don't know Chris did a good tango and a pretty good rhumba in his early weeks. Luckily for him his cluster eff a QS was early enough that there were still plenty of rubbish contestants around for him to get through regardless.

There were a lot of people that Chris wasn't worse than though - this was the year of Jo Wood, Craig Kelly and Joe Calzage and I don't think anyone was the complete package. Ricky didn't really have a wow factor going for him or much charisma, Ali's latin was kinda of boring (rhumba aside) and a lot of the rest weren't very good either although Nat Cass's QS was good and few others had the odd stellar moment. A lot had delusions of grandeur too - even Nat Cassidy was starting to get them in the end. Jade getting injuried didn't help nor did Zoe Lucker's elimination (which is why people really hate Craig Kelly IMO despite the fact that that week was actually one of his better ones dance wise). He also had a great rapport with Ola which I don't think the Judge has with Oxana.

Chris won as he had a good gift of the gab with the judges and backstage, had a great relationship with Ola, didn't take himself seriously and because the rest of the contestants that year were even worse, or worse, absolutely bloody dull.

And he did have some good dances, and not just the Charleston either.

Rinder...I think he's lacking rehearsal time because I can see that he would radically improve a lot if he could train more or less full time in the week. He has ability and a natural talent. I can see him in the semi or quarter final, but there are a lot of roadblocks in the way to him getting to the final, and I can't see him getting past them. I would like to see him in the final over Ore, but he would have to be practically leading the vote at the end, and it's unlikely.

No, there are too many popular ringers ahead of him to win, and not sure if he will even reach the last 6 tbh....though his first couple of dances were very promising. And I have voted for him! He has obvious competition for the 'comedy' vote too....though I do like him. If he did more training that would help his cause......but not enough to win.
My guess is 'nevertrainedbefore, honest' Ore will win it over danny.

If all the others get kidnapped by aliens, he will definitely win.

I can't get over his odd gob movements and gurns.

His most impressive dance thus far has been his Cha-Cha, and that was all the way back in week one! Since then he has shown little to no improvement. I can't see him getting further than Blackpool unless suddenly he has a reversal of fortune.

Have to say I agree with Claire. I think he's pretty polarising among "general" viewers. I don't mind him and I've enjoyed most of his dances but his facial expressions do distract me when I'm watching and can be off putting and I don't think I'd ever actually vote for him even if I was watching live and not on catch up after voting's ended.

Chris Hollins, while a possibly controversial winner, wasn't really "odd" enough for people to dislike him, he was just a reasonable dancer who was clearly loving it even when he wasn't technically brilliant and a lot of people responded to that.
