Cant see a thread on this so I will start one. This lists quiz hosted by Nick Knowles returned last night. Usually the winning team from the previous series return but this time the series started with two brand new teams. So what happened to the winning team at the end of the previous series?

Unless you knew one personally, I doubt we would ever know.

Illness, death, or they simply don't want to be on telly again... Take your pick.

As for the quiz itself, this is my favourite along with Wish List of the lottery shows. Nick isnt a bad presenter, and some of the lists get your mind going which is better than some quiz shows on TV.

I'm the opposite. If it's not a subject you know anything about, which is often the case, then you can't play along.

I quite enjoy the one with Nick Knowles where they have to unlock the vault, and Dale Winton's In It To Win It - the latter mainly for some of the mind-boggling choices some of the contestants make!

I just think it's been a long time between series and one or other didn't want to come back.

Why not tweet Nick Knowles and ask him?

Then you can just learn

I found the female contestant quite overbearing last night.

It's rather rare that there's a list you literally know nothing about, surely? They're hardly University Challenge topics!

That's often the problem! Popular culture is not my bag, really. I've not watched this current series - maybe I should so I can report back!

Who Dares Wins is my favourite of the Lotto quizzes, too (though my most favourite was the one with the envelopes that only ran for one series I think). I find In It To Win It too easy, though I much prefer Dale Winton to Nick Knowles.

But the contestants find it very hard. Which is what makes it fun to watch. Does anyone else record these and fast forward through the boring lottery bits?

Yes. I record all the quiz shows I watch and fast forward the boring bits. Pointless especially.

Not really. Football players or managers, olympic medal winners, adele songs - in fact any singer since the 70s. I'd be hard pushed to name any.

What a pair of thickos on yesterdays show!

15 of the top 115 TV shows from 2015 to win £50k yet they only managed to name 6 for £10k!

Very rare to get such a large (and easy!) list for the money round and they just chucked it away!

My thoughts exactly, more or less every prime time TV show of 2015 was on that list. That category should have been a blank cheque

I cheered really loudly when she lost.

You do realise that there people in the world who don't watch TV as avidly as you and I? The total TV audience for all channels doesn't even reach 50% of the population. Obviously people who post on a TV forum would have walked through the 15 but you do have to consider that it might be us that aren't entirely normal!

I've about had it with the last lot. Hundreds of Tom Cruise co-stars and they're struggling after 5.

Category: Name a current MP. Out of 650 possible names, the highest bid was only 8. The second name the team gave was Vince Cable, who was defeated at the last election. To make it worse, Nick Knowles had just pointed out in the introduction to the category that several well-known names, including Ed Balls and Vince Cable, were defeated at the last election.

It was recorded pre-Brexit. I doubt the top bid would have been that low later in the year.

But not everyone is a Tom Cruise fan. I have a totally irrational dislike of him. Cannot stand him and avoid his films and interviews like the plague. I could probably only name two films and a couple of his wives but apart from that.....

Wouldn't have been a good list for me.

Nor me. But it was their bid and after looking delighted at the prospect of this subject - they really shouldn't be struggling only halfway through it!

The last team showed how it was done in the money list - only 5 options left at the end!

Surely if you apply and get chosen to appear on the show you should be doing some research on films, geography, sports etc

I'd agree. The girl in particular looked very pleased with the category but failed to deliver.

They were great and really went for it. They might not get through the next round so really went with what they knew.

It really annoys me when a couple stick at 5 grand on a not difficult list (ie the TV ratings list) with no guarantee that they will get through the next round.

My downfall would be film / popular music/ culture but if I was going on the show I'd have a real cram-in.
