It would make:-
The public vote on really who is at risk.
It would cut shock good dancer exits.
It would make dancers abide by rules more and not play on comedy but skill.

Quite often there is a good dancer who everyone thinks us safe but ends up in the dance off.

So at least in the early weeks when we gave a lot of dancers, let the top judges score dancers go straight through, and let us vote on say the 7/8 bottom dancers only.

It would also cut any debate on racism etc...”

Wow, its like you are reading my mind. Take a look at my thread about Maximizing your Vote. It shows exactly how couples at the top of the leaderboard are completely safe. It also explains how just a few tied judges' scores can put usually safe middle ranking couples at risk, like the week of Laura and Tameka were in the dance off.

I totally agree about the bottom half being subject to a completely fair public vote, with no judges' marks at the point of the public vote. I think that is the best solution. It is the mathematically obvious thing to do. Public favourites are guaranteed safety then.

I do not think you should completely rule this idea out. OK, the judges should get a few of their favourites securely to the next week, but I agree the judges have way too much influence on who stays.

How about a compramise? How about the judges keep their top third of dancers (eg 3 in a 10 couple week)? The rest are put to the public vote. That vote is completely fair with no judges' scores influence. The bottom 2 in the public vote go to the dance off.
