I thought it might be a nice idea to look back each day at the events in Corrie on that particular day in various years.

On this day in...

1998 - Des Barnes Married Natalie Horrocks

2005 - Claire Peacock is threatened by Nick Clayton, the son of Jimmy Clayton in their latest attempt to bring down Street Cars and thus ruin the relationship between Steve McDonald and Ronnie Clayton.

2009 - Tony Gordon tells his hit man Jimmy Dockerson to kill Carla Gordon, as she has threatened to expose their murder of Liam Connor. At the last minute, Tony has a change of heart and races to Carla's flat to stop Jimmy, arriving just as Carla hits Jimmy over the head. Tony convinces Carla that Jimmy is dead and that she has to leave Weatherfield, but in reality Jimmy is alive and it was a ploy to get rid of Carla.

2013- Tommy Duckworth moves out of 19a Victoria Street and dumps Tina McIntyre without speaking to her when he finds out she has let her ex-boyfriend stay at the flat during his separation from Kylie Platt.

Ronnie Clayton was an appalling character and her 'romance' with Steve was utterly pointless.

I pondered about making a thread about the seventh anniversary of when Jimmy Dockerson nearly killed Carla. I did love that episode and enjoyed Carla's return week, great set of episodes.

The first and third are (the latter having fairly poor quality) Sadly though I couldn't find clips for the others.

It was a brilliant episode as it was also the day Tony was doing Godparent duties for baby Liam at his Christening!!
The two sides of Tony running parallel in the same episode!!
By then he would have killed to keep his life with Maria, just like he killed to keep his life with Carla a year earlier, but at the last minute he relented & dashed in the rain to try & stop Jimmy before he did the job!!
Then having got everything he wanted & Carla packed off back to LA he returned to an oblivious Maria & baby Liam as if nothing had happened!! What a GREAT character he was!!

Good idea for a thread, but a bit depressing when you can remember what happened 18 years ago 🙈

More depressing when it makes me realise how old i am getting (but Natalie was a great character so that must be it)!

Unfortunately not, as I used Coronation Street Wikia and then find the clips on YT, the other soaps don't have that

Can remember Tommy leaving because of Chris Fountain's off screen behaviour
