Sarah Manners and Brendan. A match made by an evil sorting hat.
I've always felt he was lucky she wasn't his first partner.

Ali Bastian and Brian
Ben Cohen and Kristina
Ricky Whittle and Natalie (but Natalie has since become one of my fave pro dancers)
Denise V O and James

Anybody who does not say Widdecombe/Anton (I know you were only doing your job Mr Du Beke but you properly pandered to the old bat and are therefore definitely guilty by association) is just wrong. 1001 shades of wrong.

Although I will slightly forgive anyone who mentioned Dominic Littlewood. That pairing was all manner of cringe.

Dishonorable mention to Jason Donovan & Kristina. He was annoying beyond belief and she just seemed to enable him.

Finally Iwan Thomas & Ola. He was an absolute idiot and his whole attitude stank. Ola's disappointment was clear from the moment they were paired - and that's why it became so uncomfortable watching them.

Are you thinking of Hayley Holt? She is actually an New Zealander and danced with ex-Olympic swimmer Mark Foster.”

I'd didn't mind Kristina and Jason actually but then again I get liked the campest tango in the world (I'll forgive a lot if someone can produce something I really love - well apart from Abbey Clancey for some reason) but I could see why others hated them - strange bloke and Kris isn't good at holding people in check.

Also I think Lisa's more a panderer who is used to massaging giant egos (seeing Johnny Vaughan on ITT convinced me of that - it's probably a survival trait so she could work with him and not want to punch someone's lights out every day -his most likely) but it didn't make her any less irritating at the time. What tv tropes would call a Stepford Smiler. My intense dislike of them was not helped when Austin went out and they were both such ***** about it helped me understand the Gethinwozrobbed brigade. I still don't agree with them but I walked in their shoes, felt their pain and could understand them better so I guess it served a purpose in the end that and making Bacofoil funnier.

If there was a thumbs up icon - you'd have a whole line of them for this Nail hit completely on the head.

Oh dear....I'm 1001 shades of wrong then. One of my favourite partnerships ever!

👍🏼 👍🏼 👍🏼 👍🏼 👍🏼

It was the distain with which she treated the whole process. Just a platform to promote herself with no care for how undignified it made Anton look.

Widdy obvs.

Gary Rhodes
David Dickinson
Edwina Currie (loathed her and felt sorry for her at the same time )

Karen C and Mark Wright.
Can't abide her and the likes of him should never have been allowed on the show.

Kellie and Kevin
Self entitled, arrogant and irritating. Both of them.

Widdy and Anton
I love Anton. I prayed for his soul (and his back) that year. Hate the woman. Cried when they paired her up with my Anton. Prayed every week she'd be voted out so he'd be spared.

And a controversial choice...
Kara and Artem.
Never liked him- just can't see the appeal. He always seemed moody and I found his choreography was dire. I found her really unlikable- not arrogant per say but like she knew she'd win. Couldn't warn to her at all.

As a partnership together, and not as individual people (or else I'd be tarring pros/celebs that I like while pointing out my hatred of their partner, plus I'd be here all night) I think I might have to go with Matt Baker and Aliona. She's always come across as a spoiled child to me, and she seemed to bring out the worst in Matt Baker as well. What a stroppy, sulky pair.

Really? I saw her having a heck of a lot of fun on the show. Yes, admittedly it had to be done to her way (but who's to say other celebs haven't been the same) but she had a lot of fun with it.

Clearly the general public did like her though with her getting as far as she did and that's very important in my books.

Wouldn't say it was a "Least Favourite" but a partnership I found really uncomfortable to watch was Fern & Artem.

You could almost smell the disdain that existed between them and Artem's moodiness really put me off him, great dancer that he obviously was.

Emma Bunton and Darren Bennett
Lisa Snowdon and Brendan Cole
Pamela Stephenson and James Jordan
Lisa Riley and Robin Windsor
Tom Chambers and Camilla Dallerup

The first four I couldn't stand due to a mixture of their personalities and judges overmarking, with Tom it was just his personality.

But, but didn't you realise he was getting married?

Nancy Dell'olio without a doubt was my worst ever. Anton tried, but had absolutely no hope with her.

Widdecombe and Anton easily the worst

Littlewood was horrible but so was Edwina Currie. her behaviour was disgusting

Dom Littlewood and Gregg Wallace - why they were inflicted on the poor female pros I do not know..... that pair of lecherous gropers should never have been selected for a programme where contestants have to get up close and personal with a female dancer.

It made me dislike Artėm too. First contestant he'd had who needed kindness and encouragement and he treated her with what looked like contempt. Fern would have had a far better SCD with Pasha. Not to lionise Pasha. I suspect Naga might have done better this year with a Gleb or an Arty if either still involved. They'd have been more decisive and catagorical with her and that might have agreed with her brain better in the short-term crash course of SCD

That was one of the weirdest partnerships ever. It's one thing when they hate each other and act like it (Brendan and Lulu etc.) but Fern used to be all over Artem like a rash on ITT and on the show, then said afterwards they pretty much couldn't stand each other. Makes it extra odd that Artem has now become the Anton of DWTS.

I agree with everything you've said here apart from BIB. Fern & Pasha would have reminded me of Carol & Pasha, which I also found slightly uncomfortable. Pasha was clearly less than keen whilst Carol seemed totally oblivious and just lived the experience through rose-tinted spectacles regardless. Felt a little sorry for her.

My first choice for Fern would have definitely been Anton. Outside of him, I would pick Robin.

Or maybe, people just liked to see what totally undignified thing they would do next.

I have always hated this Norman Wisdom type of comedy as it makes me squirm.

Comedy is always subjective (Norman Wisdom comedy makes you squirm - really ) but someone who wouldn't be expected to take the mick out of themselves in front of millions of viewers week after week is part of the charm of Ann to me.

The image of her flying down into the studio at the start of whatever dance it was (a tango maybe?) made me howl with laughter because it was so unexpected from her. Her general take on Strictly subverted the show and I enjoyed it for that.

Ann was funny, whether she wanted to be or not, but to say she treated Strictly with disdain is as far away from the truth as you can get. I think your dislike of her has clouded your mind on the situation.
