I personally enjoyed their Charleston.

I adored their QS. The theme, Lesley being able to use her acting skills - it wasn't perfect technically, but I loved it.

Surely has to be the surprise of a Charleston from a septuagenarian

I too voted for their QS - I loved their charleston but their QS just had a charm all of it's own and it was somehow a rountine that seemed to suit her and Anton's personalities so well. It was also something pretty unique to SCD.

The QS.
Not only was Lesley's footwork and acting great in it, Anton did some gorgeous choreo for it and with -for me- just the right amount of proper content mixed with enough crowd-pleasing "faffin' abaht". And he looked as though he was thoroughly engaged and having the time of his life.
Good times

I loved their QS too. I know Lesley's hold wasn't the best, but her footwork was good and her acting skills really came to the fore. But most of all I loved it for Anton's choreography which I thought was the best of the night. I'm taking nothing away from Joanne, but I thought the way Anton included references to moves performed by Garland and Astaire, and in the actual in hold quickstep, was masterly.

I voted for the charleston, loved the character she put into it and thought she danced it well but the QS was great as well, more understated but I think it's harder to make an impression with an understated dance and she did it, she had presence, she acted and danced it well.

Sad the tango didn't work out, she was good. It always annoyed me when people said she was good for a 71 yr old, she was good for anyone! Not the best but no way the worst and if the tango had gone better she might have been still here.

Agreed in a less competitive year she may well have got further in the competition - she probably would have done last year.

I love the charleston and in particular I love Anton's charlestons because they are so humerous, but voted for their quickstep as I thought the theme suited them so well and the height difference on this occasion worked in their favour. Unfortuanately it worked against them in the tango.

All of this, but in particular the bit in bold. Just loved this routine - so sad to see them go, they looked very sad too.
