Strictly has been a bit of chore to watch this year for me and I'm still not that interested TBH but Lesley was a real plus and really made me smile whenever she was on screen. What great personality, charisma and attitude she has.

She's unlucky to go so early and the show is unlucky to lose her so soon.

Lesley is an inspiration! I wish I could have her spirit and ability at that age. Lovely lady!

She was a joy to watch and such a wonderful lady. I think she's made a friend for life of Anton.

Really sorry Lesley has gone - a little bit of Strictly sparkle will have gone with her. I thought Anton looked under the weather and Lesley seemed tired though. It's a shame I was hoping they had enough fans to carry them through a few more weeks.

It is a shame, Anton's got further with much worse.

Sad for Lesley, she did a bad dance but that doesn't make you a bad dancer and there were worse dances/dancers who escaped the bottom 2. Seems like a really warm and sincere lady, very good actress who loves dancing and worked her butt off (and Anton's too).

Yes. I gave her my 3 online votes every week.

Hah! Fabulous idea. IF there's anyone who has never seen her Dorian character in Birds of a Feather - watch the repeats on Drama, she is the best part of that series.

Ironic isn't it? Widdy was just awful, yet they got to Blackpool!

It was worse than that they got to the quarter finals Gave me a fright that she'd make the final although I didn't think she'd win - this was the year of Kartem after all.

In a way it's a sort of a compliment. Widdecombe was kept in by voters because she was excruciatingly awful.

Lesley seems to have been judged and voted for as a dancer, alongside everyone else.

I can't get over just what an amazing lady she is - a proper national treasure if ever there was one.

She was so classy when she got eliminated.

It's a shame she went. She has been on fire until now. That woman has more energy than me and I'm not even half her age.

I'd like to add my thanks to Lesley for enthusiastically throwing herself in the whole spirit of SCD whilst resolutely refusing to become the "joke act".

As others have said, she bought a touch of class and sparkle to the proceedings and was a true inspiration proving that age is but a number.

All the reactions to her departure from Daisy to Anton to the other contestants felt genuine and real which is a great testament to a wonderful lady.

He has indeed, but Lesley has just said on Loose Women that she found it difficult as Anton is 6'3 and she is 5'2. Have googled him and he is 5ft 10 1/2 . The only really tall dancers over the years have been Ian Waite and Matthew Cutler so good job she wasn't on when they were professionals on the programme!

THis is what makes the pairings so ridiculous. You could see the poor woman hunching her shoulders for all she was worth through absolutely no fault of her own. Everyone from the judges to Karen and Ian highlighted it week after week.

As we have ALL said here, Kevin should have been challenged this year with the oldest female. He and Lesley would have been much better suited height-wise and, judging by her ability and popularity, she would have gone further in the competition.

Those producers are truly clueless!

I don't think her or Daisy should have been in the bottom two.

Couldn't agree more. You have both articulated what I feel.

Maybe she meant he seemed like 6.3. But height aside, they seemed a good pairing.

I am disappointed Lesley has gone as well... she said today that her Jive that she was due to do this week was even better than her Charleston....what a pity we are missing out on it. A lovely lady

I don't think she'd ever win but Ed should've gone and possibly Gregg before her in dance ability
