When Oti danced with Gorka tonight she was wearing a gold dress. Then we saw her in the results section back in red. Are bits of the show pre-recorded?

Yes all of it is recorded on Saturday night and then put together. The dance with Oti and Groka was probably even recorded before the main show on Saturday.

Guest artist and group dance are often recorded before the live Saturday show, then with the results recorded post the main show are edited together.

Tonight the Shopping at Goodmans group dance was recorded on Saturday afternoon, but Tess and Claudia would have the door put back when recording the results show later, then edited in.

When I went was filmed in this order:

Guest singer
Saturday pro dance
Claudia and Tess' links
Saturday show
Sunday pro dance
Sunday show

I don't know if they would normally do all pro dances before the live show as they finished the Saturday filming about 10 mins before we went live so wouldn't have had time to fit the other pro dance in (after 2 runs of guest singer 2 runs of pro dance)

I went Halloween week last year and they did that Chess dance so all the dancers straight after the live show had to have their faces painted and get in the Black and white costumes and then immediately get their make up redone and changed back into their show costumes for the results bit.

Iirc Anita and Helen jokingly made themselves into a pretend couple for about 5 mins as they were in position for filming the results but Aljaz and Gleb were still having their face paint removed so they were standing on their own.

That's why I thought that maybe they'd usually try to film all dances before the Saturday show to avoid the extra rushed costume change.

When Claudia films the intro for the singer the next thing that happens for the live audience is the second half of the results show.

The Sunday show is basically filmed in order but without the Live singer.

I think Darcey was the only one who had to wear Sunday costume for the singer then Saturday costume then back to Sunday as I think for continuity the judges are supposed to be sitting at the desk for the singer in Sunday outfits.

ETA don't know if the other judges change their suits, I only noticed Darceys change of dresses.

Sometimes when the singer had finished you could see that the audience were looking up at the monitors to watch their performance which had been pre-recorded.

When I went we had to record the applause/standing ovation for the pro dance which we hadn't even seen as it was recorded the previous week!

We also watched them piece together the pro dance which was done section by section and then edited together for the next week's transmission. During this dance the judges came out and watched in their next week's outfits!

It's all very piecemeal.

Last year Gleb was up with Claudia doing the the safe couples interview bit, then when Claudia introduced the live singer he looked down to start watching and there he was standing there ready to dance.

Just to confirm, are you saying they asked the audience to applaud and give a standing ovation for nothing .
