How about some new dances are added. We've haven't had a new dance added since Series 7 IIRC so might be time for a refresh.

If the producers insist on keeping the theme nights then I hope they scrap Halloween next year and instead have a Bonfire Night theme. There's plenty of songs with fire, explosions, smoke etc. in the title and a Bonfire Night theme wouldn't lead to as many ridiculous costumes.

With CRH as Guy Fawkes?

It would seem like plenty.... for about two series... then it will be the same reheated (no pun intended) fare over and over again.

1. The pro dancers to choose the music for their routine, not the producers.
2. The training videos to show training and just training
3. Props BANNED! Well, OK, maybe a hat/cane/umbrella is OK, but not people flying down from the sky or going in and out of fake doors/cars/whatever.
4. Results show live.
5. Controversial but I'd prefer to hear the actual original records rather than the band doing them - it can be a bit cringeworthy sometimes!

Very controversial, ballroom / Latin always has a band playing at competition level

The only alteration I would like is a replacement for Claudia.
I really don't like her.

I'd love to see Contemporary

Only change I want is the new judge replacing Len and a few new pros! A return to 14 couples would be nice, the 15 number bugs me and I have no idea why

AJ, Aljaz, Giovanni, Gorka, Kevin, Neil and newbie.
Chloe, Janette, Karen, Katya, Oti and 2 newbies.

Perfect

A less scripted show would be nice. Time to get rid of Louise Rainbow.

This would be difficult as they have to have music which only lasts 90 seconds!

Though to be fair Dancing on Ice managed it.

Admittedly that's been axed whilst Strictly is still going great guns but I don't think that's because of the music medium.

I think the live music adds a great deal to the show. It would be a huge pity not to have it.

You can download Audacity free onto any computer and edit/crop any MP3 that you want to so really if I can do it the more experienced folk at the BBC should be able to manage cropping a 3+ minute long song into a 90 second piece.

The couples train to the recorded version of the song so they must have a rough edit of the official music they use. I'd rather they play that than have the singers attempt notes they have no chance of hitting.

It has to be live music, adds to the spectacle #KeepMusicLive

I thought we had established that Ore hadn't though? I'm so confused unless we are now taking James Jordan's opinions as gospel now?

Dancing on ice was pre recorded music only though Fudd? Still left me cold but it was a completely different show!

I expect they didn't have live music on Dancing on Ice, in case someone's tuba got all frosted up!

It was pre-recorded music but that's what someone suggested higher up. I'd definitely stick with the live music though; just make better music choices!

Again, its tradition. Any Ice Dance Competition, Olympics, world championships etc always have pre recorded music. highly unusual for it to be just one song or piece of music (one of the reasons Bolero was so unusual at the time) or if singing involved for it to be the original artist but def pre recorded.

He hasn't had any training. Ore has denied it.

My 'wants', not necessarily in order of importance. They basically repeat what other people have said.

1. A head judge, who has qualified as a judge of ballroom and Latin dances.
And a head judge who is consistent. If one couple have marks deducted for an illegal lift, then so do every other offenders. None of Len's 'I'll ignore that' after he's previously said he'll punish people who transgress.

2. In the event of a tie in the judges' vote in the dance-off, then the person voted off is the one who received the lowest number of public votes.

3. Quarter finals onwards decided by public vote. The judges can still critique and give scores.

4. An end to the useless, time-wasting, and licence fee-wasting, VTs. Replaced by more training VTs.

5. An end to all the props, and the 'every dance has to have a story to fit the music'. In the vast majority of cases the way the dancers are dressed will suffice as a reference. e.g. JRR initially wearing a cloak and banging a gavel when he and Oksana danced to 'Mercy'.

6. Suitable music. If they're dancing to a waltz then the music should have been originally written in 3/4 time. And if that means something written in 1930, then so be it. It's all very well TPTB wanting to attract younger viewers but old(er) codgers like me don't want to hear all modern music. Yes, I would prefer it if the pros could pick their own music, but I'd settle for just 'suitable'.

7. For goodness sake, how difficult is it to give us a complete view of the dancers, including their feet? I 'm fed up of seeing shots taken from the ceiling, trying to see someone between the light fittings.

Needless to say, I won't hold my breath.

Indeed

I noticed she bursts into her stupid skip when walking onto the stage- from the trailers for the Buble show she hosted which will be shown next week.

cannot abide the woman

Although it would kind of render the dance-off obsolete.... which is not necessarily a bad thing.

How would it render the dance off obsolete ?

if the judges vote 3-1 to save X then Y is eliminated
