Is Alijaz a boring choreographer or are his partners boring?

This may just be my personal opinion but I've found all of Daisy's dances pretty forgettable this series even a Charleston which is supposed to be the big standout dance. Last year I've found Helen George's dances pretty forgettable too so is the problem that Alijaz has lost it in choreography and just produces boring dances or are his partners to blame?

In this defence he did win in his first year and I do think he is a nice guy who gets on with all his partners. I liked him best actually with Alison Hammond. I prefer Daisy to both Abbey and Helen but her dancing has not excited me sadly.

The charlestons are usually choreographed by outside specialists. Helen was an amazing dancer and had some stand out dances for which we have Aljaz to thank. I'm not persuaded by his rumbas, but that's my only criticism of him. I think he's an asset to SCD and seems to get on well with his partners and the Strictly team.

Waltzes are always boring to me, but his are usually rated highly.
He probably did not choreo that Charleston, an outside choreographer probably has.
The Mary Poppins QS was nice.
Did not like the rumba, too awkward although it made me laugh with the bum in the air and bj positioning.
The cha cha was okay.

But to me, he will always be Wuthering Aljaz, in his breeches and boots.

Aljaz seems to get some elegant ballroom dancing from his female celebs and I expect he'll do the same this year. Maybe that's not to everyone's tastes.

Yeah, I think he choreographs the best ballroom dances out of pretty much all the pros, but his Latin dances tend to be a bit more hit/miss.

I haven't really been taken by any of his partnerships other than Abbey though.

I've never found Aljaz's choreography particularly thrilling, although he comes up with some nice pieces from time to time, but I do think at this point it has to at least partially be that seeing a nice attractive young white female dance well on this show has lost all its novelty. We're coming out of a period of time on Strictly when that demographic has done very well, and at this point if you're not bringing something slightly different or really special, then you're just not going to get the votes.

I think that Abbey was certainly that, but Flackers no.

I've never rated him. Give me exciting, innovative, out of the ordinary. *sob* bring back Artem and Gleb. I want fire, not embers.

I don't think his choreography is boring. The mummy dance Helen did last year was one of the highlights of the year in my eyes.

He's an excellent choreographer IMO, especially in the ballroom. He's the kind of guy that gets along with everybody; he gets along with his celebrities. Quite a few people will say that they found Abbey boring but I didn't ; Loved her. She's my favorite strictly celebrity in the history of this show and her and Aljaz are my favorite strictly couple ever. With that being said, Rumbas are his weakness imo. They always turn out to be extremely polite and oh so BORING. Like I said, I love Abbey but their rumba has to be my least favorite dance they have done ( yes not even the chacha were they messed up ) . This is the 3 rd talented partner he choreographed a rumba for and they're still Meh.....

I don't think he's boring but he is a bit quiet and needs someone who is the total opposite of him in terms of personality to see some sparks in the partnership ; someone like Abbey or Allison or his real life partner Janette. .

For the record, I find Daisy extremely boring and it has nothing to do with him; but together, they're double Meh. I also found Helen really boring.

I also want to clarify something, I'm not saying that a rumba has to be raunchy to be amazing, not at all. In fact, I love most of James and Brendan Rumbas and they tend to be romantic, tender and loving but I just don't know why I don't get that with Aljaz Rumbas

He doesn't have Pasha's originality or Anton's cleverness but he did some great choreography for Abbey and Helen. I think his Les Mis paso for Helen was a great piece of dance theatre, just not a paso. This year I liked his waltz and the opening of the charleston. I wonder (could be wrong, I don't know her) if maybe his partner doesn't inspire him as much as the others? She's better than Alison but Alison had lots of personality.
