I was about to dissent vociferously but after looking up some photos, I have to admit it. When Fry was a lot younger and slimmer, yes, there is a resemblance. The shape of the jaw, the large and wide-set eyes. Oscar had a FAR prettier nose though, and much fuller lips.
Something I've found interesting is that based on prison records etc Wilde was actually never really all that fat. He was over six feet - 6'2 or 6'3 - and when he went to jail he weighed a bit under 14 stone. That's not massively heavy for such a tall man. I suppose he might have taken off a bit during the trial period because of stress, and he was certainly often described as overweight by people who didn't like him, but I found that interesting. He lost two stone in jail.
