I missed last night and I am officially worried. Well done Matt and I am happy that saara has made the final two. I really hope she nails tonight and goes on to victory. Still voting for her regardless.

I've been a 5AM supporter throughout this series but all my app votes (15 in total) are going to Saara now. Hopefully she pulls through.

If I was Simon, I'd rig the vote! All those new marketing opportunities in Finland and the rest of Scandinavia (and yes we've had the argument about whether Finland is included or not and it is in a casual sense ).

The final is not, however, the time for kooky novelty songs. You are supposed to be winning over the floating voters which this will definitely not do.

In some way, coming 2nd would be better for Saara anyway.”

That video has been watched over 2,5 million times .. that was the one what changed the game for her, so i can understand why she chose it, winner takes it all would have been better in my opinion , though.
I think Saara also knows that 2nd place would be better for her anyway, maybe it has something to do with this decision ?

I do think it's oh so quiet has the potential to be a show stopper. I have no doubt that saara will put on a excellent performance. Though a ballad would work better and I do think they are bigger vote grabbers than uptempo songs. Matt doing 'the writings on the wall' can only work in his favour. Given how well he performed that during the live shows, you know he's going to nail it and make his already strong position even stronger. Saara is going to need really nail her performances tonight to get back in the race. I'll be interested to see what she does with the winners song.

You could hardly hear Matt in that duet once Nicole came on stage. So basically Nicole choosing a good song for herself and belting out Purple Rain could win XF for Matt. These duets are ridiculous.

If they're going to do duets it should be the 2 finalists together. If that happened it would be abundantly clearly who the best singer and most charismatic performer was.

We all know Saara should win this. We all know she beats Matt in every single department. All we can do to make that happen is vote as much as we possibly can.

Do everything you can. Get your Mum, Dad, Brother, Sister, Friends, Dog, Cat to vote Saara.

We can still make her dreams come true. She's not that far behind with the bookies and with our support she can still win this. Every vote counts. As Saara said, LETS DO THIS!

Writing's on the wall is a terrible song though- I'd go as far as to say it's worst Bond Song ever and comes across as a cheap and boring copy of Skyfall. It got a lot of hate when it came out. And it's sung primarily in falsetto which puts a lot of floating voters off imo (none of the falsetto heavy male singers have ever won a UK Talent iirc.

Oh so quiet is definitely memorable and Saara's going to belt it out. Fingers crossed for her!

Although right now it's matts to lose, I still think anything can happen. It's been reported that only 5.5 million watched last night. That's terrible for a final night. You have got question how many of those actually voted too. The bulk of the votes come tonight. I have no doubt that Matt will deliver tonight. However Saara needs to compete with him. It's oh so quite will show her versatility. I really want the winners song to show her vocals though. She needs to show the casual viewer what she can do and that she's no one trick poney.

Roland Orzabal from Tears For Fears complimented Saara on her version of Everybody Wants To Rule The World. He tweeted the following:

roland orzabal @rolandtff
#xfactorfinal That was a very pleasant surprise @saaraaalto @tearsforfears EWTRTW. Great version Saara. Hope you get to the final xxx

Jess Glynne didn't mention anything about Matt's version of her song but did tweet this about his 'duet'.

Anyone noticed the X factor YouTube channel has only uploaded Saaras duet and not Matt or 5am? Wonder why?

Worth mentioning that Saara gave an interview with the Finnish press about 2 weeks ago where she said she would rather finish 2nd than 1st. Her reasoning being that coming 2nd gives maximum publicity without being shackled to any particular label or contract and would give her the freedom to go anywhere or do anything.

Yes, just checked. Odd! Can only think there's a rights issue. There wouldn't be with Saara as they would have had to agree a proper deal with Queen for Adam to appear in the first place.

Yep but by xo trash having the label "X Factor dinner" can get you TV/radio and interview slots around the world.

No solo artist in their right mind would want to be signed to SYCO.

funny that last series noone appealed for an English vote against reggie n bollie.
Nicole did a low blow to Saara, who comes from a country with a similar average income,if not more,to the uk and certainly not a concern for immigration.

I agree with your point about reggIe and bollie but then with respect I think you are taking it a bit far.

Also Nicole is American - and ultra competitive and self obsessed - so people's finer feelings won't occur to her.

I have heard that 1 million Finns watched the show last night. If they CAN vote, saara 's won anyway

If the winner's song is an acoustic ballad as has been reported that means Matt will be doing two ballads while Saara will be doing an uptempo song and a ballad. This could work in her favour depending on how all the performances go so it will be interesting to see what happens.

This is very true, still wish Saara had picked Chandelier or winner takes it all though, but I suppose it's up the producers....I mean....Saara.

Just an observation but the majority of commentary online and from media seems to be "Will Saara win" or "Will Saara lose". In other words its all about Saara.

I think it's too close to call
Matt may well have a slim lead after the writings on the wall so it's up to saara to really deliver a knockout winners sing
I do think it's important she wins - it will not only guarantee her a record deal, it will open doors throughout Europe

As much I love those songs, I guess she/they decided not to go with them since the former was done in her audition and again last week in the semis while the latter was performed two weeks ago.

'It's Oh So Quiet' was the first song to get her through on the public vote and as I said above the fact that she's doing and uptempo song and a rumoured acoustic ballad could prove to be what crowns her the winner.

I'm definitely curious to see the voting stats when it's all over but she can be proud of herself that she has made it this far.

I agree, which is why I'm slightly baffled that Saara would prefer to be runner-up.
I'd like to think she was only trying to save face should she indeed lose out to Matt.
Yes she could potentially have more creative control as runner-up but I'd still prefer the safety net of a guaranteed record deal with Syco, even if they can be really incompetent with their acts.

Anyway, I can't wait to see the voting percentages later. I have a feeling Saara romped both the quarter-final and semi-final votes, but Matt won Round 1 of the voting last night.
I just have a bad feeling she is going to lose out but at least we will get to hear her version of the winner's song.
