I'm gutted Saara didn't win but she's done incredibly well to get this far. Matt is the typical bland male winner so I shouldn't be surprised. Still if Sara had sung WTIA or Chandelier she may have won it imo. Matt singing his best performance of the series and singing the John Lewis advert song was obviously going to tip it in his favour.

Saying all of that though the winners single is DIRE, definitely not suited to Saara imo so probably a blessing in disguise that she's not been saddled with such shite.

Delighted she got so far. The usual voters were never going to vote for her in a head to against Matt, so she should feel proud.

Real pity she didn't win. She was by far the best in my eyes.

But glad she didn't have to put out that dire single. And glad I don't have to buy it.

Well fought final but Saara wasn't done any favours with her best song of the series or her last song! I think Matt was always the winner from the start, hence why he was in the bottom 2 last week to get his fans voting more for the final, plus this is why I only ever vote with the free app votes! Total fix but glad Matt won, best final 3 and condolences to you Saara fans who fought well for her!

My favourites never win. Typical bland and beige wins. Saara did amazing to get this far. She was very gracious in defeat. Probably better in the long run that she didn't win. At least she doesn't have to release that dirge of a song.

I agree that the winners song was written for Matt. He was always going to win and I guess they never considered that saara could win to even sing that song.

Oh well.... she's had a fantastic run considering she was a outsider. I do think coming 2nd may end up being the best thing for her.

Me thinks so to, her reaction to winning though would of be shamazing. Saara was so lovely and humble.

I don't think coming second MAY be the best thing for her....I think it WILL. All we have to do is look at last year's winner and runner up.

Although Fleur didn't exactly have a string of hit singles and a platinum album, she still outsold Ben. Now Saara can get extra creative with her options and bring out some fun, quirky singles in the vein of Gaga, Sia and Bjork. Yes you could tell Simon definitely wanted her to win. He didn't even stay for Xtra Factor haha!

So she topped the vote in the semi final and when she performed Winner Takes It All.

Yet they didn't let her perform any of the songs she did those weeks.

I'm sure that the producers, Simon and Syco have some very clever people who have analysed all the past series and finals voting patterns. They will know how to give someone the best chance of winning based on running order, placement of ad breaks, types of song etc. Plus undermining Matt last week to get a bounce back vote, Nicole the assassin very deliberately appealing to nationalism....etc !

I thought Saara topped the votes in semi week.

Saara was never bottom 2 in the vote guys.

So proud of Saara tonight. So amazing and gracious in defeat.

We all know she was the better singer and far more entertaining and charismatic act but coming second is not the end of the world. This is just the start.

Record labels will be queueing up to sign Saara Aalto and I'll be first in line to buy her album.

Wow, that has surprised me in a bad way as I was sure Nicole's duet "won" it for Matt.
It's safe to say that a reprise of Chandelier or Abba would have sealed the floating votes and a win for Saara, instead of the self-sabotaging Bjork number.

She was ahead even after Nicole's performance. Matt picked up the votes from 5 After Midnight supporters.
