Oh well guys at least you can watch Sarah's performances on YouTube
i think she will be releasing her music on there unless a record label picks get up but can't see that happening

So Nicole's plea for "us" to vote for our own, and her duet, didn't work LAST night then ?

Also, well done to 5am, put up a really good fight.

I wonder if this reflects Simons comment tonight "I thought it might be saara and the boys" (in the final)?

Bloody hell that is SOOOOOOOO close, I really do think if she'd sung WTIA or Chandelier instead of Oh So Quiet she'd have won the damn show.

Amazing that she won the past two shows well 3 if you count last night at the vote freeze. Just a shame it didn't happen tonight.

Simon had better release some music by Matt aimed at teenage girls quickly ...before he inevitably comes out

He seemed to leap into Freddy 's arms after he won. Which is sweet.

Matts uncle tweeted photos of Freddy with his (the uncle 's)! little baby boy on the day of matts homecoming which was very sweet.

Sort of a welcome to his nephews partner into the family

I read a very wise post that said Matt probably won it due to the larger number of casual mainstream viewers who tune into the Sunday night show.
Those viewers would prefer songs like writings on the wall to suddenly bring confronted with its oh so quiet.
I think in the past more than a million extra viewers watch Sunday rather than the Saturday final ?

Matt topped most weeks and I wish him all the best but I get the impression he will follow the footsteps of matt cardle. He also topped most weeks but it was one-direction, Cher and rebecca who had more successful careers. I do think the same will happen this year. 5am will get signed and have a great career. I do think Saara will potentially be a album seller or on the west end for sure. I do hope she gets signed though and given a real chance at a recording deal though. To get 40% of a public vote when you are a non British female in the overs against a boy band and runner up to a young man is no easy feat. Maybe I am being too premature but I do think her voters will buy her album.

To be honest, I'm not surprised Matt overtook her. Both of Matt's song choices tonight were a million times better than hers. It's Oh So Quiet was far too niche and I Didn't Know My Own Strength is an utter, utter dirge. If I hadn't been watching all series, I probably would have voted for Matt tonight- even though Saara did brilliantly with the dross she was given.

So Saara got 45.5% of the final vote between her and Matt.

Pretty impressive

I suppose she could enter Eurovision again next year.

Yep, she was completely deramped tonight with two horrendous song choices.
I think if she even sang Matt's John Lewis song she could have made up considerable ground at the end, but that Whitney song was the final nail in the coffin.

I think this.
hit the nail on the head

I'll never understand them giving her 'it's oh so quiet'. While it showed her versatility it's never one of those songs that's going to attract a big vote in a final. The winner takes it all would have been perfect. I get the impression that Saara was never really the producers choice for a winner but i do think Simon took to her in the end.

Well it fits into the narrative that Saara herself wanted to finish runner-up

Simon and Louis looked disappointed at the very end of the show.

Simon didn't turn up to the spin off show afterward on itv2 ....

I think if she had done ABBA again rather than Bjork, it may have been even closer (and maybe could've won). As I think her ABBA song was her best performance.

Yeah I noticed that too. They both looked disappointed.

I knew matt won about 15 minutes before the vote was announced. Sharon and Nicole's faces said it all. Sharon looked disheartened and Nicole looked chipper.

Yeah I think thats true, Oh So Quiet was definitely not a good showcase for Saara to the casual viewers that would have tuned into tonights final. WTIA or Chandelier though would be a different story.

Simon could barely muster up a smile and Louis just looked miffed. :/ As for Simon not even turning up to the Xtra Factor that says it all.

I'm quite pleased at how well she did in the vote! Never in the bottom 2 and at least top 3 every week she wasn't in the sing off. Particularly surprised at how well she did with Bad Romance and the Celine Dion song.

I still think she would have won with better songs in the final, but hopefully it will work out for the best. Has been great fun supporting her- what a ride!

I think Cowell may really have been hoping for that big "moment" with the underdog winning, and one with an international base. It would have been good advertising for his franchise ww.

However although I'm personally disappointed, just wait til she takes the stage on the XF tour. She'll be on fire. I think thats her real destiny, live entertainment in whatever form that takes.
