Laura has put a message on Twitter to say, firstly, that she went for physio assessment on Monday morning, and, presumably after her assessment, that she will be dancing this weekend.

Which is in line with Tess's remarks on the Saturday show.

It seems likely that her training, dance choice and Giovanni's choreography will be adjusted to fit around a weak ankle. I guess we will find out more about that during It Takes Two this week.

Looking forward now to an upbeat, camptastic Hallowe'en show.

Some doom and gloom merchant has just tweeted Laura to tell her that his/her ankle injury took ages to heal ... So helpful! She's actually sent a very sweet reply. I'd have blocked 'em

Charming ........... such a kind person ( not )

Pleased to hear that Laura is ok to dance. Would not have been great for her Strictly experience to end with this injury. She's had enough hassles already.

Pleased to hear Laura has been pronounced fit to dance.

Just a thought - if a celeb gets injured they get a bye for that week, but what if they were still not fit by the following week? Would they get a bye for that week as well, or would it be just for the 1 week?

No, it's just a one week exemption - not better after that then they have to leave the competition.

That sounds fair - or they could get a bye through to the final!!!

I felt a little sorry for Gio, he obviously so wanted to do that jive. Now she is on the road to recovery I hope they get the chance later on to revisit it. I think she would be great with her previous Irish dance experience

Laura has clarified her earlier tweet saying that was her trying to stay positive and not started training yet. I don't think she has been cleared to dance??

I'm sorry she needs to, cos she has had her one bye and with Will having dropped out it was getting a little bare for the later weeks.

No, she really doesn't. That's not her concern at all.
All she needs to do is what the doctors and medical staff tell her and make sure she doesn't do long term damage to herself, just for a bit of daft on a Saturday night.

Correct!

The info mentioned 'when Laura would be able to put weight on her ankle' - not that it was fine for dancing on. They will be limited by what training Laura can do, while still letting the ankle heal enough.

I read Laura's tweets as a green light to aim to prepare for a dance OF SOME SORT on Saturday. Which is in line with the physio assessment on Saturday. But she is not back at training today when the London-based celebs normally put in a couple of hours.

It seems likely that in any case the choreo will be quite careful and training will be limited.

And, of course, they might aim to dance on Saturday but not make it. No need to take risks.

Edit: As Fatskia said above. If Laura can stand and walk cautiously, you can make a 90 second Hallowe'en routine out of it. That might be where they end up.

From what I have seen, I don't think she has got the green light for Saturday.

If I could edit the title.. I would do. To say 'might' not 'will'.

It reads like she has physio clearance to train - to some extent - this week. So she is intending to 'dance' - again, to some extent - on Saturday and, crucially, is not pulling out.

Maybe its more realistic to say it appears that Laura intends to try to perform something on Saturday, not necessarily dance.

The physio advice would I imagine at this stage be around whether she can walk/take weight with strapping and appropriate footwear without injury risk. Then its a day-by-day thing.

I know you meant well, but better not feed these people who are already negative about her. Better to wait until Laura says that she will be dancing on Saturday.

Good advice.

It was simply very good news that Laura was so positive and saying that she was 'doing this!' after seeing the physio this morning.

Its positive at this stage. I am sure we will hear more over the course of the week from Laura and Gio and via It Takes Two etc.

To lighten the mood a bit, how about a task to find choreography for a Fusion dance where one ankle is less used.

eg.
A Halloween start - Harry&Aliona's Tango intro.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aafV0V2n97k

Ricky and Erin's (one legged) Jive.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkXlKTidDXs

Other suggestions?

Does anyone know what her dance is? Presumably if she was down to do jive last week it should be ballroom this week. I know the feet work hard in ballroom but at least it should mean she can avoid jumping shouldn't it?

All the best to her for her recovery.

She'll probably get back training tomorrow or Wednesday. Gio will probably just teach her the basic steps first. She'll safe herself for Saturday. She should be okay

Maybe give her a slower routine like a Rumba to ease the ankle for this week.

I don't want to see anyone withdraw with an injury but nor do I want to see her hobble around the dance floor like Long John Silver.

Correct me if I am wrong but nothing has been disclosed about her injury so they will need to be careful. If there is a chance of long term injury she should withdraw.

Well, if you were being funny-ha-ha I'm suitably
But, in my defence the way things are on here sometimes you can never be sure
