Apple ID Scam
So I've just received this text from a random mobile number - I've looked the number up and it's detailed as spam.
The Text says 'Your Apple-ID has been locked due to security measures to protect your account. Log in via the link to avoid account termination. ' Then a link and the address is just random words and letters. Nothing anywhere to show Apple has sent it. So it's a scam, what for? Will the 'link' ask me to put in my apple Id and thus give the scammers my apple ID?# |

Yes, that's probably it. Once they have your ID and password they can change your email address etc. and use your account to buy dodgy apps.

A random number texted you? That sends alarm bells ringing for a start! Delete and ignore.
What I Normally do with random numbers that ring or text me is block it, you can do that on both IOS and Android phones quite easily. |
