What popularity?

Sounds like this was a terrible series going by this thread

The popularity as expressed in this thread, for example.

I would say it was the best-ever CBB series. It's been downhill all the way since then.

Hardly popularity. This is a BB thread and he was in BB. He's now dead so quote rightly there is a thread about him. You alluded to his popularity pre BB.

I wouldn't say he was particularly popular or famous pre BB. He had one big hit in 1985 under a groups name and was hardly heard of since was he.

I recall seeing him in ' Never mind the buzzcocks' once but that's about it.

He wasn't a big celeb pre BB

What I meant was that the people who like(d) Pete Burns liked him before he was in CBB, whereas Gina Reo's popularity stemmed entirely from her appearance in BB. I'm aware that he was not to everyone's taste, but a fair number of people in this forum and elsewhere expressed delight that he was a contestant that year.

Those were the days, when CBB offered intelligent, interesting, and/or witty conversation on a regular basis. RIP Pete Burns, RIP Celebrity Big Brother.

"Sad to hear of the demise of Pete Burns. He was a cross between Oscar Wilde and Dorothy Parker. You don't get more brilliant than that. RIP" - George Galloway”

Wonderful epitaph - he would have been happy with that.

All epitaph is to recall and show respect

So the fact that you don't agree is neither here nor there.

I have my opinion.

The deluded friend of Saddam, George Galloway, has his.
