R.I.P. Bobby. He was one of the greatest. I met him several times & he was a real gentleman. A lovely guy.

Loved reading about how Robert Zimmerman toured with him and how many years later Bob Dylan sang his first song (Susie Baby) to him when he was in the audience.

Great to remind myself of the songs of the early 60s.

RIP Bobby Vee

I always thought that 'Rubber Ball' was the first pop hit that I remember listening to on the radio........I took it literally and thought it was about a ball

I have very happy memories of seeing him at the Granada, Tooting in 1961.

His supporting act were The Springfields, shortly before Dusty went solo.

One of the first records I ever bought with my own money was Take Good Care Of My Baby, a great song written by Carol King.

I have Bob Dylan's book Chronicles Vol 1 in which he states that he was a big fan of Bobby Vee. R.I.P.

Walter, did The Springfields sing Island Of Dreams?

I'm getting older believe me. Just ask my bones!
But I REALLY do wish though that I had been a teenager in the late 50's early 60's to have enjoyed these guys first hand.
RIP Bobby.

They did indeed, it was one of their biggest hits.
