I did until Saturday where I thought it was his time after nearly killing Katya. Feels like he's taking the place of talented people now.

I prefer to watch him then Danny, Louise and Laura.

Not voting for him mind, but his watchable in weird car crash way.

I haven't voted for Ed (yet!) but can completely see the appeal - he's a lot of fun, but is also trying hard and is actually being given some decent dance content to do. He has done 2 pretty good dances (waltz & Charleston), and would have done a decent AS had it not been for the lift going wrong. He also seems very into the whole Strictly experience and I was impressed by him using dance terms on ITT tonight.

As 'joke' acts go, I think he's one of the best ones and would be happy to see him for a few more weeks. I'm actually enjoying watching him more than a few of the others who are a bit on the bland side!

Halloween is always a good marker point between the cosy and the slightly more serious. Ed is staying in because he is providing the laughs and he and Katya are turning out to be a good pairing. The public mostly seem to know when characters like Ed have gone far enough and I see little reason to doubt that here.

I'll be voting for Ed just as long as he's there.

Once he has gone I'll be voting for the next one on 'The DS Hitlist'.

Me!

Every year I use one of my BBC votes for a duffer until Blackpool. It's like having turkey for Christmas.....not much taste but it's traditional.

That is what I like about him...he has no talent...and is really trying his best.

Given it's a show with dancing in the title, funnily enough I vote for the best dances. So Ed will never be getting a vote from me, but I don't think he's the worst contestant this year, or even the worst one still in the competition. I admire that for the most part he's actually trying to learn the correct steps and technique.

If Katya gives him decent choreography, then I really don't mind if he stays longer than Judge Rinder or Greg, but if he stays in and another good dancer gets eliminated (Lesley was a good dancer) then I'll be really annoyed.

With any luck, the Judge will get knocked out this weekend, though I suspect Ed's cha cha won't be much good.

So who do you think that is going to be?

Will you actually vote for someone you don't like to spite people on the Internet who don't know how you have voted and don't care anyway as the majority understand you can vote for who ever you like.

Odd, to be political, voting anti establishment so to speak, just to spite, gave us Trump and Brexit.

Be careful what you do, going against the establishment, in this case against the general mood of DS. could lead to a horrid situation that is completely unworkable and take years to sort out.

It's funny, no one ever asks 'Who's voting for Danny or Claudia or Ore etc". Feels like there's a list being compiled of Ed supporters who need be tracked cos they're seen as some sort of threat to the show!

Anyway, I vote for him. I don't want 15 Eds but I enjoy 1 in the mix especially when there are a few very-good-very-early celebs and there's a risk of things becoming a bit too earnest - that's for after Blackpool for me (and no I wouldn't mind at all or feel the slightest bit guilty if a couple more better dancers who don't engage me like Ed does left before him).

I loved how tonight on ITT he was naming the various dance steps - he's taking it seriously, seems eager to learn and do well, and I bet he's tempted more viewers to take up dance than any of the others have.

My audit (3 online votes)

Voted once for Ed.
Mostly for Laura and Ore and people who rhyme.
Now all for Ore unless Laura's ankle / leg injury is fixed.

I nearly voted for him because I didn't wanna see that lift again!

Normally don't have any time for the crap dancers, but I absolutely adore Katya. Think she's my favourite pro now

Ed can keep moving forward as long as I get to watch Katya every weekend

But its an entertainment show. People vote for the most entertaining surely? Strictly is a bit of fun. They ask you to vote for your favourite and over the years those less than able (Ann, Judy, Ed etc) have always been far more entertaining to me because they're relatable. I can see myself being like them. They're bad, they know it but are giving it a go.

That's far more entertaining than brilliant dance after brilliant dance. Strictly isn't a dancing show to me. Treating it as one actually does it a major disservice.

Anyway, in answer to the thread...I keep voting for Ed every week!

We all look for different things. Otherwise the winner would be picked week one. If Ed Balls' dancing entertains people, that's fine. As for more accomplished dancers leaving earlier, at the most he makes one week's difference.

The GBP, that's who is voting for him!

Every year we get this sort of thread.

It is billed as an ENTERTAINMENT show, not a life or death competition. The celebs (?) will hopefully promote their standing with the public, but apart from Tom Chambers (who I saw in Top Hat and wasn't impressed) are not going to make dancing their living.

You give the GBP votes, and this is the sort of thing that inevitably happens. Because that adds to the ENTERTAINMENT!
