I have 2 BBC accounts so have 6 votes. 2 or 3 go to Ed as he entertains me with his learning to dance and his attitude. And after all this is a light entertainment show about learning to dance and I am encouraged to vote for my favourites and he is one of mine.

^^^ This. Exactly.

Anyway, I vote for him. I don't want 15 Eds but I enjoy 1 in the mix especially when there are a few very-good-very-early celebs and there's a risk of things becoming a bit too earnest - that's for after Blackpool for me (and no I wouldn't mind at all or feel the slightest bit guilty if a couple more better dancers who don't engage me like Ed does left before him).

I loved how tonight on ITT he was naming the various dance steps - he's taking it seriously, seems eager to learn and do well, and I bet he's tempted more viewers to take up dance than any of the others have.”

Hello Sid! We speak on Twitter.

I totally agree with your post. That's how I feel. I noticed Ed naming the dance steps too.

Yes, I voted for Ed, three times I'm afraid as there was no performance I felt strongly about last week. I like watching someone who is entertaining and who at the same time reflects what it is really like learning to dance for the average person.

I hope Danny wins though and will probably eventually vote for him, but he was in no danger last week. I was sorry to see Daisy in the bottom two (she seems nice) and Lesley go, but then I usually feel like that about the bottom two whoever is in it.

Apart from being rather overly serious about a reality show, I think this somewhat misunderstands the Brexit vote (and no I didn't vote Brexit). As for going against the mood of DS, I have no problems with doing that at all (DS forums hardly exemplify all that is fair minded and balanced) and I really don't think an Ed win would take years to sort out!

If you can't be a good dancer, be a dreadful dancer.

Tnat's the way to get votes, because people like to see you embarrass yourself each week.

On another matter, Donald Trump wants to be in the next series, as he has seen various possibilities along the lines of, 'It was a complete accident. I thought I was going to drop her'.

Ed has had at least one vote from me every week this series. I've been rather charmed by him and think Katya's lovely. I'll probably stop voting for him soon unless he has a complete dance epiphany, but they've been my favourite couple so far, which is what we're asked to vote for, after all. I don't have a favourite among the more accomplished celebs although most of them have produced at least one performance I've loved, but none has properly engaged me - yet.

I will say that berating people for their voting choices will only serve to galvanise support for Ed. Just human nature .

I suppose some might vote for that reason, but it's honestly not the case for me (voting for Ed). I don't enjoy others' humiliation, and wouldn't want to keep him in the show if he was embarrassing himself. I think he's loving it. He's learning (admittedly, more about performance than technique ) and he's developing a good partnership with Katya. I'm laughing with him, not at him.

Who votes for Ed?

Not me.

But anyone who enjoys watching him should vote for him and shouldn't be lambasted for so doing. Neither should they feel obliged to justify themselves. The show should be about the contestants enjoyed by most viewers getting to do more dances. That is the point of it.

I havent done yet but if people keep banging on about "who is voting for Ed" and "why are people voting for Ed" I will give him my 3 free votes

I enjoy him, he makes me smile and he is trying

I would rather watch Ed than boring beige Louise at the moment!

I voted for him until last Saturday.I vote for the most improved and the most entertaining.I didn't think he was much good last Saturday so I voted for someone else. I'm not one of those people who put several votes on for one person because I believe it should be one person one vote.

Why do you want to know?

Although I don't vote, the reason I like to see contestants like Ed continuing for a while is governed by the starting point they come from and to spite the judges (Darcey excepted).

Craig is very knowledgeable but not helpful to people starting from scratch. He will say what they did wrong but not how to put it right (apart from at one minutes notice before the DO). Bruno does his camp gushing over the likes of Pixie Lott, Peter Andre, Frankie Bridge, Louise Redknapp, etc, who are youngish and I suspect have all danced at drama school or at least with a highly paid choreographer in the past.

Bruno showed mock concern that Ed's lift was dangerous to Katya and didn't miss the opportunity to blame him but who decides the routine? He also obviously never watched Dancing on Ice when some professionals were swung round by amateurs with their heads no more than a foot from the ice.

I saw Ed at the Cheltenham Literature Festival a fortnight ago, talking about his political life and his autobiography, but Strictly came up, obviously. He was a real charmer. It struck me that if as many people had voted for him in the General Election as are probably voting for him on Strictly he wouldn't be on Strictly at all!

Left wing radicals as they want to show support for the former stalwart of the Labour front benches.

Right wing extremists as they want to see a former stalwart of the Labout front benches make a complete t*t of himself on live television.

OMG Ed Balls is going to win Strictly😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

Thankfully we are all entitled to vote for who we want to and for whatever reason.
I choose NOT to vote for Ed Balls.

Me, I always give him one of my votes. I love a trier and Ed is trying

If I voted, I'd be voting for him as he's absolute car crash. Rightly or wrongly, he's entertaining.

I'm find SCD16 full of dullards who are no stranger to being choreographed, add to that a few humourless, overly ambitious types and there's not much to keep you watching. There's just not much of a hook, who is improving for example? It seems stagnant.

I'd go as far to say I'd take the entertainment over the best dancer winning this year.

Originally the Conservative politicians and haters hoping he would fall flat on his face in humiliation.
However he has now turned into a charmer who tries hard- like Jeremy Vine.
British public like a trier who entertains them. THEY now are voting for him.
Way to go Ed.

Couldn't agree more.....Danny Mac & Louise bore me to tears. Who wants to watch good dancers plateau. I want a rollacaoster, thrills, spills and a journey.

Now that is what Strictly is about! It is an entertainment programme. Seeing the same week after week from bland and blander isn't entertaining.

`The likes of Ed Balls light up my Saturday evening!

I've voted for him if I've felt my favourites Claudia & AJ are safe. I find him entertaining and I love Katya. If I feel Claudia is in no danger this week I'll definitely be putting a vote or two Ed's way.
