What is Driving people to not vote for Miss Daisy?

Now I didn't think I would ever be sticking up for Miss Daisy, but I have to say her appearance in the bottom two was ridiculous this week. Not the best ever charleston, but to lose at least FOUR places to good old Ed (yep I voted for him, I admit it) and others was bordering on the weird...
Just seen her on ITT...she seems good natured, normal, (for a model), no tantrums, modest...and isn't the most obvious ringer I have seen this year.
So why the hell are people NOT voting for her?

Uhmmmm...maybe because people like other contestants better ?

General blandness and a lack of familiarity, I guess.

I'd never heard of her before this series' line-up was announced.

People vote for favourites and people at the bottom of the leader board. Dancing nicely and being a nice person isn't the formula to get votes.

She seems nice enough. But she mentioned a DEAD RELATIVE in week one. Since DEAD RELATIVES are my personal bit of ridiculous Strictly pettiness - to the childish extent I capitalise them - I won't be voting for Daisy.

Reality TV doesn't really bring out the best in me, does it?!

She's fast becoming my favourite (just catching up on ITT now). She's very likeable.

I vote for her because of her joy in learning and because she seems a lovely girl

She's surprised me by being so normal. I mean that in a good way. She's a model, strange family background, the man she thought was her biological father for the first 14 years of life wasn't etc etc etc.

All of the above I have found out since she joined SCD as when she was announced I,had absolutely no idea who she was and I think that's part of the problem, as it was for Lisa Snowden, also a model, she has no general public profile.

We all know that the way the points system works there can be a cluster of dancers in danger in the middle.

I'm voting for her! I think she is delicious

The impulse and direction of your question are facing the wrong way.

She seems like a nice lady so I don't know what everyones problem is.

Think this could be a clue.

Perhaps because it is called Strictly Come Dancing and not Strictly Come Nice.

Mind you, I can see an Abbey scenario forming all over again.

Extremly unexciting to watch

I think her personality isn't strong enough for people to vote for her every week or think that strongly about her, and they probably didn't think she needed the votes, whereas people know that if they want to keep Ed in, they have to vote. I liked her dance and if I'd been in on Saturday would have voted for her.

I normally vote for her every week but I didn't this week gone because I was a bit fed up of seeing not much improvement from her or a few others whatsoever. Hoping she may have a breakthrough now after a bottom 2 appearance

You tell us...why did you vote for Ed rather than her?

I've voted for her every week so I've seen her appeal from early doors.

I'm not sure. She has surprised a lot of people in how well they can dance and how great she has came across very well so it's a mystery to me. I'd imagine its a flick and people will start voting for her.

On a side note, FANTASTIC thread title! One of the best I've seen!

In all honesty I think what she was wearing had a lot to do with it. An outfit's supposed to enhance a performance but I think the stark black did the opposite and took away from Daisy's. She needed to be more Strictlyfied basically. I thought the same the week Tameka fell into the bottom two - I mean it was nice (very nice) to have Gorka dressed as a cop but her outfit was so boring, it did nothing for her or the overall performance.

Also, with Laura sitting Saturday out, Anastacia easily doing her best dance yet and Ed & Rinder getting the 'entertainment' votes, it was going to be Greg or one of the girls facing Lesley. I wasn't that shocked to see Daisy there.

There's often no logic as to why some good dancers are not liked, but I quite enjoy reading the made-up dancing critique some people write to justify their prejudices.

You are the problem!
Clearly you prefer a tubby duffer to someone whose legs go on forever. There's no accounting for taste.

Not knowing who someone is before they appear on SCD isn't necessarily a stumbling block as we can see from Jay last year. Expect most of viewers over 45 had never heard of him either, but his polite personality, and affectionate partnership with Aliona won him masses of new fans, as well as dancing ability.

I've never heard of Daisy, but not being of a fan of Aljaz I wasn't drawn into watching them. It was the same with Helen and Abbey. Not keen on his choreography really.

Claudia's been getting some of my votes because apart from that frenetic samba, she's had some great dances, and being athletic can cope with everything AJ throws at her with ease. Her back bends and lifts are done effortlessly, but not only that she's showing beautiful footwork and arm placement - something I look for over everything else. Daisy still isn't doing even that yet, but that's down to technique not being taught. Alijaz says he goes over it, but I don't think he concentrates on it as much as he should !

Daisy's a lovely girl, but she just comes across as a bit middle of the road for me.

Mine too - especially as she was so upset at Lesley's departure. She also does dance well and doesn't seem to have the confidence that others like Laura, Anastacia have.

I loved her rumba and her Charleston suited her height.

Guess she isn't that well known. I will vote for her as long as her dancing is up to snuff.

I agree with you about the costumes - they really are dire this year. Having said that, I loved Daisy's rumba dress. Bad choice of costume as the 'dark' sequence only lasted about 10 seconds.
