I dont think it's harsh at all. The question was why are people not voting for Daisy, and I was trying to give my reasons why.
Of course she is a novice and I dont believe I ever said I was comparing her to a Pro, that would be ridiculous.
But, comparing her to the other contestants is natural, and for me, there are others who I enjoy watching more, and therefore they get my votes.

She had a fixed smile on her face throughout the Waltz and the Quickstep. No reason at all not to smile in these dances, but there is no variance at all, which makes it look a bit stilted.

The Rhumba - she had what I would call a fixed pout throughout the dance, again no change of expression. I know The Rhumba is extremely difficult for the vast majority of the celebs and I am not trying to say she did a bad job ( there have been far worse ) but am trying to explain why she doesnt get my votes.

The only dance ( I just watched it back ) when she showed some character with the dance was the Cha Cha and, even though that was week 2, I would rate it her best dance, as she had character and dance joined up that week.

Maybe people thought she was safe as she was in the middle part of the table so voted for someone they thought would be more likely to go?

I didn't vote for her because, although I like her and would like to see her stay in - I would like to see pretty much everyone stay in at this stage, so I will vote for the couple/s I would feel most gutted to lose.

I respect dedication and hard work - that is how Danny has won me over (that and his amazing Paso!) So, if I have a choice of who to vote for, I will vote for people like Ed who I can see are really trying and putting everything they have into this, even if the results aren't perfect.

Daisy comes across as really likeable, the sort of person you'd want to hang out with, but - rightly or wrongly - she gives the impression that it's all a bit of a lark rather than something she really cares about doing well at. So, though I really like her, I will vote for the others who I also really like - and who come across as putting more into this.

From the Daily Mail this morning

While chatting to Chris Evans, Daisy revealed she felt personally guilty for Lesley's departure.
She said: 'I thought it was my fault that Lesley left.
I love her, she’s brilliant and she’s been doing Birds of a Feather every morning from 5am. She’s brilliant.'

Um.... what?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a bit of personal modesty, self effacement and not blowing one's own trumpet... but this ludicrous statement is just nauseating.

Get a grip, love!

EDIT: Disclaimer - yes, I know it's the Daily Mail and could be utter nonsense or out of context... but still...

Short clip of Daisy on Chris Evans' Radio 2 Breakfast Show this morning.

Listening in puts her comment in context. A genuine sentiment from Daisy, along the lines of what she said on ITT about competing against Lesley in the dance off as well but her interview with Chris was lighthearted. Nothing overwrought about it.

Daisy wears her heart on her sleeve but is very down to earth.

Thanks for putting things in context .It seems we see and read things to suit our own pre conceptions .!

It still doesn't make any sense for her to suggest that she felt it was "her fault" though does it? Would she have felt the same way about anyone else who had been in the dance off with Lesley, with the same result? Would she have regarded that as "their fault"?

I rather doubt it. Just a very odd thing to say.

Odd is when Pamela Stephenson wrote an entire newspaper column explicitly comparing her guilt over surviving week after week to people who survived genocides. Saying you feel a bit guilty you were the one who knocked someone else out in the dance-off is not odd.

It would have been adequate to express her sadness that Lesley had gone - but not guilt, as she had no control over the result.

There is no fault or blame to apportion to anyone. It's a subjective judgement and is the nature of the competition, is it not?

She didn't knock Lesley out. The judges did.

That's a bit like saying a boxer didn't "beat" another boxer if they won on points. Lesley and Daisy went directly head to head in a competition and Daisy won.

Others have expressed the same feeling .I think its just a way of saying you felt a little uneasy as you were picked ahead of them .No big deal for me really, you hear people in accidents feel guilty because they were unharmed etc .Its just a feeling and an expression people use

Daisy isn't competitive and seems gregarious and likeable. I can believe that she empathised with Lesley and felt part of Lesley being thrown out of something they both love doing.

My impression is that Daisy has the most potential for improvement of all the celebs, but she started off without much fitness or acting skills and what dancing lessons she had done was geared towards dancing at nightclubs.

She is working hard, but it takes time to improve. So far, they have done 5 dances. I think she will be good at both Ballroom and Latin, and if they could get to the final, she would have improved a lot from the start of the Series.
But she didn't start off with a fan base. I'd never heard of her.

She is the sort of person I like to see improving on Strictly.

Yes, so no need to feel guilty. She won it deservedly - based on the outcome of dance-off. I'd say it was OK to feel guilty if say, she'd tied Lesley's shoelaces together.... but not for simply dancing her own dance better second time around.

Sadness at being placed in that situation... yes. Guilt - definitely not.

Daisy was in floods of tears, if she's not naturally competitive I can understand her saying she felt 'guilty' that Lesley had gone, because she gets to stay and Lesley doesn't. I don't think she's the most articulate person in the world but she seems very genuine.

I don't know if the first poster was making a pun type joke...

Perhaps just a coincidence!

I agree, if this came from you it would seem nauseating and insincere. But it comes from goddess goddaisy, so only smells of rosepetals and fluffy kittens

I did not think I would like Daisy, but I really do. I thought she would be an aloof model, but instead she is so nice.

Last week I though Danny and Daisy were the best two performances by a mile. I thought Daisy's dance was so clever and brilliantly performed.

I think the public are so confused as to who is safe and who is not. Just a few judge ties (four couples shared the same score as at least one other couple that week) and a middle rank contestant goes from being really safe to borderline or worse.

I think they should just put the bottom half of the leaderboard to the public vote, and then just base who is in the dance off on that public vote alone (no judges' scores). Everyone then realises every one of those bottom half couples has an even chance of being in the dance off, so there is no confusion.

In the present voting system it is 90% certain that one of the bottom three is likely to be eliminated, even when those bottom three are very popular with the public, even being public favourite.

Well, I'd be the very first to admit to insincerity and susceptibility to inducing nausea in others....
