Abba Are Reuniting

For the first time in over 30 years to work on a project with music mogul Simon Fuller. The group has announced they will work with Fuller, who rose to fame managing the Spice Girls, on what is being described as a “groundbreaking venture that will utilise the very latest in digital and virtual reality technology”. Hope it's not just going to be one of those stupid holograms like they did with Tupac.

Simon Fuller knows his stuff so it should be good.

I'll believe it when I see it...
I know they recently met up together in 2016 but havent they always said they want ABBA, the music etc to be remembered for what it was and they turned down an offer of a billion pounds/dollars to reform a few years ago (though Agnetha makes music part time I think?)

It's no good. After 35 years their viking bums just do not look the same.
Abba = Agnetha's Bloody Big Arse.

I doubt if it will involve any touring as Agnetha wouldn't do it. It would be good to hear some new songs from them though.

You mean like when the Spice Girls returned yet didn't film any of their comeback gigs for a DVD?

I think this will be an ABBA hologram tour, with the group (now) being interviewed together for a documentary.

"the very latest in digital and virtual reality technology"

This just means there'll be pre-recorded video of the four members introducing a series of clips from 40-50 years ago upscaled and converted into 3D or something.

I'm thinking it's some kind of hologram tour as Littlegreen 42 said. They've done similar with dead popstars like Elvis, Michael Jackson & Tupac. Shouldn't be an issue to do it with a group that are still alive but 1 or more members are reluctant to do an actual tour

Is that really necessary?
Both Agnetha and Frida have aged pretty gracefully and neither have gone potty with the cosmetic surgery. People get old. I don't think they've done anything to try and give the impression that they are after reclaiming their youth or trying to roll back the years to a silly degree. No need for being critical of a natural process. Part of the reason Agnetha stepped back, as well as wanting to spend time with her children as they grew up, was because she got sick and tired of being under so much scrutiny, the hype and endless touring/ promotion. She liked making music and singing, not so much all the fame and attention it brought her. She is also quite a sensitive soul who has done nothing to merit sarcy comments.

When I first saw the OP, my first thought was to dash off a Victor Meldrew style 'I don't BELIEVE it style-post...

Then, on thinking about it...

My favourite album is The Visitors... So, if we got some new adult material, I would be up for listening. ..

Infact, I woul very much be up for listening to some revised unplugged versions of old classics.

However, I have no interest in watching holograms of old Abbanians singing their old hits in the same old style. I don't see the point, though I'm sure their bank managers do!
