This has nothing to do with last week's apprentice, just responding to a very uninformed person suggesting that something that is fact is nonsense.

It is fact that she systematically screwed the public purse and no, it is not her job to act immorally and put her personal financial gain above the public funds of the country. Anyone with an ounce of class would simply refuse to do so, especially someone with a public honour to her name. Totally disgraceful, even if not related to this thread at all.

If you believe Karren or West Ham has committed fraud or some other criminal act, then it is surely your duty to alert the authorities. If she has beaten Spurs and Orient to a good deal from a willing seller, that is her job.

Desperate lack of morality on her part.

And actually I have reflected. It is related to the thread because there are some people who, reasonably enough, give her less credit for her behaviour on the Apprentice because of her very immoral behaviour in her business life.

Personally I base my judgement about her appalling performance on the Apprentice on her behaviour on the programme, which is deeply and profoundly unacceptable because she clearly takes pleasure in belittling and crushing other human beings and does so in a vicious unrelenting and frankly pathetic way; compared with Claude's calm and direct approach where he gives an individual feedback to their face in a reasoned way.

But if other people give her a harder time because of her lack of morality in her public life, that is a perfectly reasonable approach for them to take.

Quite the opposite in fact.

I have worked in the national press for most of my working life and the company I worked for used to be the number one seller - until the Sun took over - and have stayed there.

And that is because they know the fundamental rule of any business - which Alan Sugar and certainly the people who come into this process - would do well to follow.

They know their market and readers - and they give them what they want - and they are very good at it - and that is why they are number one.

When I was younger I was offered a job with them but turned it downed because I was idealistic.

Big mistake - because they are top of the tree - and you cannot knock that.

I've given Claude's criticism of Jessica's cigar negotiation a few posts ago in this thread. If anything, it is more personal than Karren's of Alana. What we are left with is a few complainants and perhaps even one or two trolls whose objections are based on factors outside of the programme, like football or politics, and others who, perhaps as a result of unconscious sexism, complain about Karren but do not even notice Claude or Lord Sugar doing the same thing or worse.

Very well said and that sums it all up - because many things said on her about her are just not rational.

Claude is warm-hearted with a sense of humour and gives his criticisms direct to candidates, who usually accept it.

Karren is a heartless and pompous bully who interrupts to make snide belittling comments about candidates, who usually don't understand them and are crushed.

They appeal to the lowest common denominator and publish absolute trash. Worthy of criticism in my opinion.

The last refuge of those who have massively lost an argument is to make personal attacks on those who have won it.

Can't say that I saw too much - if any - criticism of Alan Sugar for his involvement with the Olympic Stadium bid that Spurs made.

Like I said earlier- Sun readers are not a majority but the largest minority, whom it is totally logical to have disdain for.

Alana can still win, especially as there are no outstanding candidates (so far) in what looks like a poor year. What Karren said was right but does not preclude Alana from winning, especially if she can take it on board and negotiate properly in a future task.

Whether what Karren said was right or wrong is not the issue. It is as usual the way she says it, which is continually a deliberate attempt to undermine and belittle the candidate. Claude critIcises in a humane way, speaking to the candidate; Karren interrupts in a classless, insulting manner about which she should be deeply embarrassed.

A candidate accepts proper criticism from an experienced person; what are they supposed to do when slagged off as if a five year old by someone who should know much much better?

I like Karren as stated and given a number of reasons which, in my opinion,she can be less than warm at times.

I have also touched on the very point you are making now and it may well be a bit of the " Good Cop" and Bad Cop" going on here because of instructions from above. I don't know but we also need to remember the level of candidates we are dealing with her because in general it is very poor.

I felt she was wrong with what she said to Alana - but correct what she said to others.

Certainly she was warmer when interviewing and much softer when I have seen her on TV in other programmes.

It may all come out in the wash - if indeed there is anything to wash out. We will have to see.

But notwithstanding any of that I think that she is good for the programme.

You will have to try to get on Desert Island Discs .

I hope you are right but I doubt it because for a start she did nothing wrong in the first place - in fact I thought she was very good.

Also as I have said it seem that the knives are out by many people including her own team mates.

She may not be the best we have ever had but certainly ( imo) one of the best we have here
