O2 refresh upgrade after year one
Last year I got an iPhone 6s Plus on the O2 refresh tariff, it says I can now upgrade, I would like to do this to the new iPhone
However it says I have to go to the shop to do this, I know the phones are in short supply so I think I just have to pop in when I can to see if they have what I want (you can't reserve one) This is the first time I have upgraded a pay monthly phone, (I was previously PAYG keeping a phone until it died!) so how does it work? I don't want to wipe my phone and then they don't have any in store, or do they help you wipe it in the shop? I want to make sure it's completely clear of my stuff Do I have to take the box in too?! |

You have to give your phone back I'm pretty sure so back up on iTunes and iCloud i looked into and didn't think it was that great a deal. Only because you have to give your year phone to them.

You can keep the phone.
You simply pay off what is left on the phone you have now. That way the phone you have now becomes yours and you get a new phone. You can trade the phone in towards paying the contract off, but you might be cheaper selling the phone privately and just paying the balance off on the phone. http://www.o2.co.uk/refresh |

Thanks, I think I will just trade it in in store - I read so many horror stories on here about selling privately! I don't think there will be any in stock until late Nov anyway.
I take it it's quite easy to wipe your phone (one it's backed up)? |

You said it was an iPhone? If so a complete reset ("Erase all contents and settings") will wipe it to factory settings and remove all traces of your presence

Yes it is, I wasn't sure when it says it wipes it that it actually does everything! I saw a few things that say you can do a few other things just to be sure...

On an iPhone the memory is encrypted all the time and "Erase all contents" deletes the access keys.....which should be totally secure!
