I wonder if Charlie and Glenda will return to the Square if thd rumour is true that Roxy & Ronnie are going to be killed off?

Charlie may return for his Son?

Glenda for the Funerals?

If I was Declan Bennett I wouldn't touch EE again with a barge pole. They treated him absolutely appallingly IMO. This was a decent character, part of an important family, played by a competent actor who seemed genuinely committed to the show. One of DTC's biggest mistakes was emasculating Charlie at the alter of Ronnie and then axing him.

Was Declan Bennett axed or was it his decision to move on?

Charlie was an interesting character, and it was nice to have a new generation of Cotton's on the Square with Dot.

I'm pretty sure he was axed though I'm not 100%. I take it back if he wasn't but it felt to me like they'd deliberately written him out.

I really liked the pairings of Charlie and Ronnie and Aleks and Roxy I thought it was a real shame when both couples were split up because of very unnecessary affairs. Ronnie having an affair with Vincent and Roxy cheating on Aleks with Charlie. Neither Ronnie and Vincent or Roxy and Charlie had the same chemistry and both relationships fizzled out leading to Charlie and Aleks both being axed. I thought Charlie and Aleks were both interesting characters with a lot more to give.

Aleks was great. I believed that Roxy would fall in love with him and Kiehling oozed charisma.

I thought they'd go down the Roxy becoming a mom to his daughter who was being bullied. There was lots of scope there.

All that was ruined though by the stupid love triangle with Charlie.

Both Charlie and Aleks were EE best new male characters in a long time. It's why the show struggles to make a success of male characters.

Agreed. I think Aleks is the only love interest that Roxy has ever worked well and shared any chemistry with. It baffled me that they chose to split them up and axed him. And to have Roxy sleep with Ronnie's husband again after everything the sisters had been through felt so out of character.

Aleks was brilliant, I agree. He felt very 90s EE; a dangerous edge but a quick wit, and pretty sexy to boot. EE felt so exciting for a while with Aleks and Charlie having the potential to head up what I thought would be an era of young, strong alpha male characters who could hold their own against the Mitchells. Then it all went to absolute pot. I genuinely didn't understand DTC's reasoning with axing these two.

At least with Charlie they could realistically bring him back (Pauline McLynn was great as well). But with Aleks it's not doable, which is sad.

DTC wasted some good potential characters/actors; Declan Bennett, Kierston Wareing and Kristian Kiehling to name but a few.

Would love for Charlie to come back and get his son. Not sure Declan will come back though and who would blame him.

Aleks and Charlie two really good male characters who DTC axed for whatever reason I don't know. Mad decision and looking at who he brought in I just don't get why

The writing was on the wall once Charlie did not punch Mitchell's lights out when he was being at his most utterly obnoxious and then the next day had to beg the scumbag for help.

As for Aleks he could have been great but he was debagged as soon as he came too close to TPTB's Weeble God and that bloody family.

Whilst the far from mellow yellow is still in the show there will never be another credible alpha-male again.

I would love to see Charlie come back for Matthew and Dot. I am still absolutely stunned that he was seemingly sacrificed for Jack effing Branning.

I like Glenda, but she has no real reason to hang around once the sistas have gone. Charlie does at least have reasons to return and, preferably, stick around.

If I were Charlie's actor, I'd tell EE to get stuffed, they ruined his character and ran it through the mud.

1. Forced him into a car lot job that somehow took up so much of his time. Despite Max pulling off the same stuff easy and still having time to shag around and leave fine drinks in cooling. And this is WITH Fat Boy helping him.

2. Ronnie getting "bored" of him despite her latching onto Joel whom was rather boring beyond belief, only she ditched him because he couldn't knock her up. Charlie is fertile, managed to get her pregnant by some miracle, and she drops him now that little baby Matty is here.

3. Making his balls shrivel up around any form of getting Baby Matthew, he knew exactly what she was capable of and he just LEFT HIM ON A TRAIN PLATFORM because he suddenly felt sorry for the woman that used him, dumped him, nearly had him killed....

No, Charlie was a great character broken by utter rediculousness.

Glenda back tonight with Son Danny but with Ronnie & Roxy leaving it could be the last time we see them but could Charlie return too especially if Ronnie does die.

Don't know about Danny but fully expect to see Glenda in a at least 2 more episodes if not a few more going by her twitter account. She filmed at the wedding location, she filmed with Michael Keating after Rita Simons and Samantha Womack had stopped filming. She was also filming something secretive in mid December.

Danny seems a bit random so I wonder if he is tied into Roxy and her drug taking (after all he lent her money - offscreen - for her schemes earlier in the year). Maybe if she survives she goes off with him or he plays a part in her (accidental) death?
