My daughters iPhone 5s has just started to have no signal......I have phone Vodafone who told me it's apple who have removed the carrier service option from the settings.

They advised me to back it up then reset it then try again.
.....does anyone know if there is another way of sorting this?

Tried switching on and off and still nothing

Just found this, it may or may not work.

Could try a hard reset which is done by pressing both home button and power buttons at the same time, keep holding until you see the Apple logo, worth a try.

Sorry meant to say, that won't delete anything at all, the phone will just come on as normal.

I've just got an iPhone 5s for my Dad and he's having the same issue, on Tesco Mobile.

Phone randomly goes to no service. I assumed it might be a SIM issue as he had to get a smaller SIM to go into the 5s.

We've already done a restore to factory settings and it seems to help the issue for a while, then it returns. I assumed it was a faulty handset.

Have these phones been updated to iOS 10?

My Dad's phone is running iOS 10, yes.

10.1 was out this week, worth updating. If still not working, call Apple (or go into an apple store) ; just don't talk to a network helpdesk they can't do anything.

Googled it and it seems to be very common. And iOS 10.1 doesn't seem to solve the issue.

Been on to Apple all day. They have great customer service. They couldn't fix it though either via mirroring the computer and trying it that way or many different ways.

Taking it to the apple shop to see how much it will cost to be fixed....probably just end up upgrading

It's a software issue seemingly, not a hardware one so a new phone won't solve the issue unless it's running iOS 9 or below.

Have you tried performing a hard reset as suggested? I did have the same problem but after doing that, it got fixed.

It seems like my advice went in one ear and out the other! Your supposed to try the easy quick fixes first, if they don't work THEN you can start involving Apple etc

Yes a hard reset didn't resolve the issue. I've got another 5s arriving tomorrow which hopefully won't have the issue as it will be on iOS 9.

Whats a hard reset ment to do. For my sister did this on her IPhone 6 the other day to get it fully working again.
I been having problems with my IPad mini 4 not being recognised with ITunes since the IOS 10.2 updated and the updated iTunes. I'm still to update my 5s to IOS 10.

I don't know exactly, all I do know is that it does sometimes solve annoying bugs

A factory reset cannot fix bugs. That makes no sense at all.
