No, sorry - I was just trying to point out that I can fully understand Rose's actions (Jeez, can't wait to actually *watch* this episode tonight!), even though some might have thought her selfish.
I realise I may have turned a perfectly good thread on a sci-fi programme into an impromptue support group

Would you really want to see that happen, though? Their relationship seems far more complicated than that. Plus Rose will be tied up with a smarmy American for the next few episodes...

Do we know much about Captain Jack, by the way? He's listed on imdb as being in it until the last episode, do we know if he'll be in the second series too? (Link, scroll down to the bottom)”

I'm just saying that it seems to be heading that way - and I wouldn't put anything past RTD!

I do think that she was being selfish, very selfish, although her actions in doing so were and are totally understandable

That's a very good point ! He did indeed take her back to that time knowing that something may happen, and he was also trying to impress her by saying " He can do Anything..." But I think I had a valid point in saying that her actions were selfish. So maybe they were a bad as eachother ? lol

I'm still not sure about him being in love with her though, although who knows, lol

A detail I missed on first viewing was that a song by The Streets starts playing on her dad's car radio when time begins to go wrong.

Understandably her dad says it goes right over his head!

I noticed that too, but I couldn't work out which track it was. Anyone got any ideas?

I think the point is, that anyone caught up in similar circumstances to Rose would have done the exact same thing. And quite right too.

I love the fact that the characters in this new series are 'fleshed out' and not flat or two dimensional - as viewers we can really empathise and it adds a whole extra dimension to the series.

It sounded a bit like "Fit but you know it..."

I used to really like Tegan - her strops were legendary. And you could really sympathise with the Doctor as you saw him struggling to control his temper.

Just watched (well ok, cried through) it again. Still bloody brilliant!

Other things I missed first time (how on earth did any of you spot the Bad Wolf graffiti first time round?):

Jackie - "That's great, you've given my daughter a 'second hand name'"

BP to CE - "Is that something hard you've got in there?"

And I think the relationship between Rose and the Doctor is definitely meant to be 'daughter to father'. The parallels in the way they each held her face were too clear to be meant as anything else, I think.

I've been so chuffed by this TV series that I have forked out 50-odd quid for a remote control Dalek, which won't get to me for 5 weeks, because they are out of bloody stock everywhere, due to demand.

See what I mean?...... I'm quite sad. A true sychophant about a mere TV show.”

Although not every episode has 'worked' for me, there is a hell of a lot to be pleased about with this new series - a hell of a lot.

Sounds like you Dalek will arrive just in time for the finale - how appropriate.

Now you just need an Anne Robinson action figure, and you'll be all set to re-enact what I predict will be one of the funniest scenes of this series.

Yes it was definitely 'hot', because when the key fell from his jacket, the Doctor couldn't hold it with his bare hands.

8 episodes in,
and i still feel i know very little
about doctor number 9 (other then i would not like to travel with him)

Yet with rose we know so much more

Billie Piper put in yet another excellent performance

THe reapers looked very menacing
and i liked the way they were kind of not OVER-USED
(the fact we knew they were outside the church etc)

I wonder why they never got a lookey-likey
to play Jackie TYLer aged nearly 20 years younger ?

I voted good

and as usual....look forward to next weeks episode
(is it just me or does anyone else Really look forward to the coming next trailers) lol

One more thing.....
What happened to the tardis interior
when it dissapeared ?

Where did it go
and why did just the tardis shell/box remain ?

It was cleansed by the Reapers and became a normal police box. Also, I think it's been said that the TARDIS itself was kind of alien organic, so that's why it would have been removed.

To be fair none of the episode would have happened.

Once Rose saved her Dad both she and the doctor would have vansihed with their other selves as there was no reason for her to go back to that date because her dad never would have died.

But I enjoyed the episode so much I can forget about that and smile.

Time huh? It's bendy!

Which is, of course, the basic problem with ALL time travel paradox plots. Just best to sit back and enjoy the ride!

Fantastic! - A cross between Back to the Future and Final Destination.

Yeah but, no but, yeah but... if there was no reason to go back because her dad hadn't died, then she wouldn't have gone back and therefore she wouldn't have saved him, so he WOULD have died

Head hurts....

I think it's called 'Don't mug yourself'.

There were a couple of rather appropriate tunes in there. Did people hear 'Never can say goodbye' by the Communards, and 'Never gonna give you up' by Rick Astley?
