there's always one I suppose. Each to their own! What I don't understand is how people sit through the whole entire episode and then say "it was awful"

I don't know what to say. That's so far removed from my own experience of this episode as to be beyond my powers of comprehension.

I don't think I've been so moved (and cried so much ) by a mere television program in all my life. The fact that it's Doctor Who that's done this amazes me.

This episode has proven that (when RTD isn't writing it) Doctor Who can transcend the geeky sci-fi niche it used to inhabit and become a thought-provoking, serious drama.

And not a plastic alien in sight.

Might not be any consolation but I think the message of tonight's episode is that you couldn't have missed the episode for a better reason. Of course, not having seen the programme you will not understand that...

Really well done. If my Maya skills were half that good I would be happy good sound design with the vulture noises too.

I thought they were really well devised and animated. Watching Confidential it showed them in slow-mo and they really looked more menacing, It looked right at the camera!

I don't think you should be critisied for saying that, when it is really the truth. But that doesn't mean we can't feel for Rose either. She was very stupid and realsies what she ahs done and really she only made things worse for herself. But she did say sorry to the Doctor and he forgave her...we need to do the same and beleive that she has learnt her lesson...I don't expect to see her doing anything similar for a long time.


The way I see it though is that the outcome had to be obvious. The audience really needed to understand it fairly quickly so that we might know what was coming and knew that somehow someone was going to have to make Pete Tyler go under the car wheels. And once the Doctor had gone the endding needed to be obvious so that someone who didn't really know what was happening could work out how to save the day: that someone was Pete Tyler who we were lead to believe isn't that clever, so the solution had to be simple. The only other peerson who could have solved the problem was Rose, and she ain't a genius (yet) either.

That's how I feel exactly, if it was the Dr Who of old, I wouldn't be watching now, the show that has evolved, and needed to, to survive on today's tv, it had to be something more, and I honestly feel they have done this. I actually give a damm about Rose, The Doctor and the various bit part players, I'm emotionally involved. If Rose had just been another screaming 'I'm in trouble, please save me Dr' sidekick, would anyone have given a damm about tonight's episode?

BTW, is it just me who finds it hilarious that Celebrity Wrestling, which I actually saw a couple of horror filled minutes of today, has now been moved to an early morning Sunday slot. ITV take note, give the public interesting, well written, well acted, thought provoking entertainment, and they will come.
