I agree I thought it was tacky. Ross could have said all that without the action! Although on reflection it wouldn't have had quite the same effect.

It was nothing she hasn't charged for in the past

Ross just done it to prove a point and get his own back. Charity seemed to enjoy it anyway

Unfortunately, it was Dross who was on top, but Charity rated it only an average performance!!

A professional opinion, if nothing else!!

Actually it was Ross who rated it as average...

I thought they were brilliant scenes, I was just a bit surprised. I hope they don't go down the route of Charity getting pregnant and not knowing whether it's Ross' or Cain's, so she just tries to pass it off as Cain's. How very soapy and predictable would that be? I'm confident the writers have better ideas though. It would be ooc for Charity anyway, she's made it clear she wants no more kids.

Weirdly enough, I kind of like Ross and Charity together, but I don't think it'll happen. I think they'll just continue to have quickies every now and again when they're both bored.

Damaged his character ???

How can they damage the character of this nasty piece of work who should be in prison.

Nice . That's the Ross I know and love . I was worried the scriptwriters would let Dan get a shot in since he is the injured party in that cheating business with Ross/Kerry.

As for what Ross did to Charity, I laughed out loud. She came crawling back to Ross like some desperate bint, expecting Ross to just accept being her toyboy. Instead he turned the tables on her by shagging her and telling her to clear off .
Yes, it was pretty cold, but no more than Charity deserved really. Now she has neither Cain or Ross.

I'm not sure why they made out Ross was interested in her anyway. He never really showed interest in her before and it felt like the whole thing was engineered by the writers to show off Cain as the superior top dog/love god, who was the object of Charity's desires.
I suppose Ross is missing his beloved Debbie, so he probably feels closer to Debbie when he's shagging her mum.

That scene was just another example of what a sexist hypocrite Ross is. This is the guy who has numerous one night stands, shagged his brother's wife, had a baby with that girl's mother and had sex with his colleague's gf for a bet, yet he has the nerve to call Charity a slapper and a tart?

It's a good job Ross is male, or he'd be one of the nicknamed "skank" characters on here.

Ditto from me. How can you damage such a hateful character as Ross?

He's the biggest skank in town, with Charity. Neither has any moral high ground over the other. Charity needs to get called out for letting her kids think even for one minute that she's dead, though.

I can't stand Charity and I hope we never see her return but that business with Ross last night was beyond the pale. I thought it was great how he gave her some home truths about her selfish behaviour but using sex to gain power and calling her all those filthy misogynistic names left me feeling very uncomfortable.

I agree. In fact, I feel there has been a lot of sexism in Emmerdale lately with the female characters always getting made fools of by men. First Robert to Chrissie and now Ross to Charity. Can we see a woman getting the upper hand for once?

By making him boring. He's not meant to be likeable. He is meant to be interesting. They made him dull.

It is a bit weird. I don't know why they felt the need to humiliate Charity really. She had a silly dream about getting back with Cain, and as she always does, pushed other people out of the way to get it. She got punished for it, but it's hardly crime of the century. I really dislike how she's been written in this story, it's felt out of character from the start.

I equally curl my lip at all this turning Chrissie into a heartless cow so we can cheer a hateful cockwomble like Robert being a misogynist bitch to her.

People even blamed her for Rakesh's problems and cheered him for physically attacking her. The comments on Youtube were disturbing.

Plenty of people call him a skank same with Cain.

To be honest Cyril it's nothing to do with misogyny. Robert has done bad stuff to many people..

Chrissie got Andy blamed for shooting Lawrence to protect her sex pest son and because she was pissed off he cheated on her.

Is she to be excused for her actions because of her gender?

It's not about excusing Chrissie. It's about excusing Robert and Ross for doing worse and having a double standard for female characters. We seem to throw around terms like bitch pretty easily when it comes to Chrissie but not so much when it comes to Robert and Ross who get hero worshipped for doing similar things to Chrissie.
