Hi there! I have a new LG smart TV and an Yamaha home theatre system, both that supports ARC!

When I change the volume on the TV remote it changes the volume on the AMP, it also sends the sound perfectly fine for smart apps like Netflix etc.

However when I change to HDMI 1 (ARC) so I can watch Virgin Media (input 1 on Yamaha amp) I can see the picture but no sound?

Am I doing something wrong? Many thanks

What audio input have you got the Yamaha set to? It should be set to whatever input the Virgin box is connected to not the ARC channel. It is entirely possible the Yamaha strips the audio from it's inputs and feeds only video to the TV. So there won't be any audio on the ARC channel anyway.

Sounds like there is some confusion about whether the amp or the TV is being used as the source-switcher?
