I could have cut and pasted posts from this SCD forum( if I knew how to do it) and made up a whole newspaper of the rumours / bile/ and vitriol which has been aimed at the celebs/ pros on this forum.

I do not need to be told the definition of the word "forum" and it's roots in Roman History- this is the old chestnut pulled out when someone has been especially offensive.

We all have out own opinions I know that, but some of the threads which have opened up on here have "scraped the bottom of the barrel".

In all honesty I do not know why some people watch it,. If part of the programme offends, then turn the sound down,when Tess, judges etc are speaking. OR Switch over to a channel they do like.
This would defeat the purpose of appearing intelligent ( or an idiot as the case may be)

I hate the X factor, so do not watch it/ or write on the forum that "I hate ......" Simple.

I only came to read this forum a few years ago , but have watched SCD since Jill Halfpenny and Darren Bennett won it.

I had no inclination to join the "discussions" I used to like to read what was being said . I really should have stuck with this idea and decided not to read this 2016's years.

By joining I have felt that I had to comment on what I was finding unpleasant..

By doing this I was perpetuating the cycle of people who disagreed with me
. Even to the point someone "picking me up" on the meaning of a word. ( they were incorrect actually. However the average of 8..5 contributions per day must have given them confidence to do this.)
I did not know that the thousands of contributions were averaged out to a daily figure by Digital Spy- know now!

The Sunday Times in its Sunday supplement has a You Say letters section.

It is unbelievable . some people must spend their time looking in the sky for Jumbos passing over in a period costume drama and then write in.
Buses ( routemasters) are a general topic from these folks as to whether they were used in certain periods. Sad people
They can't watch a programme without picking faults - the same applies here.

. See if you can up your averages by more vitriol. Certainly won' t be for anything positive..

Why somebody would go to such lengths to post all this, must indicate that they are rather distressed over other people's opinions....on....anything... which conflicts with their own.

You have to put up with the fact that if you pass an opinion on...anything, (making no reference to any other poster) there will be some who quote your post and offer a conflicting opinion...which is fine by me..but to reinforce this contrary opinion of theirs, they have to have a "personal" go at you at the same time. That always makes me smile and they certainly don't like you coming back at them for doing it.

But DS has been "ever thus."

There's often a grain of truth in what the Mail publish, has to be or they'll have law suit after law suit. Same with the BBC's PR machine and some of what they churn out.

The danger is taking any of it seriously.

You can see where she's made most of it up from - stuff that's already been written and on here or Twitter etc. Laura's an easy target for the 'cast bitch' tag as the DM only have to look at their own comments sections to see their readers will lap that up. The only bit that seems a bit left field to me is about Louise and Tess not being keen on her - I haven't seen that hinted at or mentioned anywhere?

IMO a lot of the article is true and again imo a lot of people don't want to believe it as it does not suit their agenda i.e the negative comment about Kevin. I have seen similar reports about Mr Balls. and Naga in other Papers. perhaps people believe the show is just like the Waltons I don't for a Minute as there is too much at stake.

The tabloids in particular The Sun ( Murdoch group owner of Sky) - and Daily Mail ( interest in ITN), are out for the BBC everyone knows that. They make articles out of nothing, to " sell papers" . Bitchy comments they feel sell papers.

A small annoyance in training, when you have done a dance twenty times is blown up to be a full fracas.

Take Will Youngs departure The Sun had three different articles,
1/ It was Len.
2/ It was Karen.
3/ It was his health.
Then feel sorry for Karen as she travelled to Cornwall to practice and he wasn't there. And Ken and him were in the bar post show.

All the Fix claims have been debunked, but they keep on and on.

I stopped buying The Daily Fail, it had been a good paper with good moneymail. But the editor took it down a bias and untrustworthy route.

Mays good chip paper, not a lot else, well it can be used instead of toilet paper....

I think most people who buy papers are not taken in by much of the sensationalism.

To worry about the political bias of any paper is a bit daft, unless that's your only source of information. Those days disappeared for most, decades ago.

Why would the Daily Mail be opposed to an organisation whose editorial direction is pro-(New-)Establishment? Two recent independent media surveys have judged the BBC to be biased to the right, to the extent of denying or adulterating an alternative point of view.

The BBC is no longer the liberal defender people might imagine it as being. The Daily Mail reader can safely watch BBC news output without having their world view challenged

Again, in this post something is " made up", I can't see anyone post about " To Worry", then after taking other posts, way out of context then develop to " a bit daft" based on no foundation.

Yes papers have bias, I do not think political bias was said recently, more media and company bias re competition in the media market.

It's best to keep to facts and respectfully not make things up.

I've expressed an opinion, a valid one, no good whinging about it because you don't like it.

I take a lot of aticles in newspapers about tv shows with a pinch of salt, there probably is a grain of truth somewhere but I bet a lot of these reporters read social media and cobble together a story

Peter Dyke of the Star was good at that - we noticed some years ago that he was putting articles together from a forum I help run and here regarding Big Brother, with this in mind we put a false story up on our forum he bit and did and article in The Star and it made most of the tabloids too the article we put involved pictures of the BB House from a foreign BB series

I don't give a fig whether there is any truth in the article or not, but I am doubting there is any, as it doesn't make any difference to my enjoyment of the show and who I support on it regardless of a news article designed probably to sway views. It won't sway mine. They can be as bitchy as they want to be behinds those scenes, I couldn't care.

Most of us are just stating our opinions though ... we're not inventing conversations and scenarios and passing it off as fact! I've already overheard someone quoting it this morning as if it's the gospel truth.
Gets weary reading this every year ... the celebs that don't mix or have feuds, the couple who are 'closer' than they should be, the contestant that Tess/Claudia/Len/Craig etc don't like. Absolute bullsh*t!!
