Jazz FM
Hi
Jazz FM seems to have disappeared from my Freesat box, was on channel 729. Does anyone know why? Paul |

Looks like another broadcaster has decided that the Freesat EPG fee is not value fpr money. Still on Sky EPG and their website says Quote:
You can listen to Jazz FM on your digital television via Sky Channel 0202 and manually tune the station on your free sat box, for more information click here.
To manually tune Jazz FM on your Freesat box, you must go to the ‘add channel’ section and input the below numbers. The numbers needed are: Frequency: 11686 Symbol rate: 22000 LNB Polarisation: Vertical FEC: 5/6 If those details go in to a manual tune (every box is different on how to get to the "manual tune" menu) then Jazz FM will appear as one of the additional services. |

A good answer .. I have it tuned in on a PC system running MythTV and that still works (obviously with no EPG).

Thanks for doing that. It's unfortunate that this music station has gone since they do easy listening stuff in the evenings. At least they've done the decent thing and told Freesat viewers how to manually add the channel in non-Freesat mode.

A sign of the future.
Cutbacks on a service (radio via broadcast tv), that before much longer will be considered irrelent - radio via the Internet using devices such as a smart phone or tablet will have taken over. Less of a prob at home (where u would use the tv to do the same job) as u can have a unlimited useage broadband tarrif. |

Of the three main digital radio platforms, DSAT/DTT radio is third place and shrinking. The costs of an EPG listing are also disproportionate. So expect it to be the first to go when financial reality hits.
