Which minor or characters that didn't stick around for more than a couple of years had more potential?

My choices:

EE:
Sadie Young- Sadie (if you don't remember her) was the owner of the salon and Jake Stone's wife. The actress was good and she filled the middle class quota. She also showed controlling tendencies when forcing Jake to take on jobs and pretending his alcoholism didn't exist.
Vanessa Gold- Vanessa was brilliant, and bubbly's in the fridge is infamous. Zoe Lucker is also gold dust and is brilliant in any role she plays. They could have explored her possible OCD and made her a businesswoman.
Linford Short- Vincent's brother who made appearances alongside Andy earlier this year. I feel as if his relationships with Claudette, Donna and Vincent weren't explored in enough detail.
Daphne Fox- Kim and Denise's sister showed up for Denise's 'funeral', showed a dislike for her sisters for an unknown reason, and then disappears and is never mentioned again.

ED:
Caroline Swann- Laurel's sister always seemed quite detached and cold towards her family and I wonder why that is.
Natasha Wylde- She was brilliant. Amanda Donohoe was a steal for Emmerdale and they used her brilliantly. The whole Mark murder plot gripped me from start to finish. If Emmerdale could find a way to bring her back then I would be more than happy to see her again.

I thought Lucas' son could have been done better. Also think Gwyneth Strong's darts character would have been a great addition.

She was a good actress but was only brought in on a short term contract which she chose not to extend, they had to drop the storyline they had planned!

Mrs Patel. She was fab and EE could have done with an older character like her bossing people about.

Then there was that Paramedic guy who kept popping up.

I wasn't aware they had a storyline planned for her. Where did you hear this lea?

Do you remember they had a secret? Well it was meant to be about a child that died that they either killed or were responsible for the death, it was hinted at onscreen

The Sadie actress or someone did an interview around the time of her exit where it was said That her initial contract was only short 5/6 months and she chose not to extend it

She's back in a few weeks.

Shrimpy in EE , I think he should get a bigger part and the odd story ,he is a nice bit of eye candy .

Robbie in ED - just as he'd got great he got killed off. And to add insult to injury it was to save the awful Charity!

I hate it when EastEnders tries to introduce middle class characters as it completely changes the fundamental basics of the show. The show always striked to depict the everyday lives of the working class from day one.
