Anyone else thinking the music choices are a wee bit odd this evening?!

Also think the judges are going way over the top with marks and comments.

Agree.

As much as I like Louise, that Charleston was distinctly average.

That screeching music for JR didn't say Paso to me.

Have to say I didn't really like Louise and Kevin's. Overmarked. The song and the Suicide Squad characters didn't go together. The song is from the Great Gatsby. Don't think the two films went together

Enjoying it.

I agree the music choices tonight are awful, and Louise and Kevin were over marked.

I am not a fan of Halloween week.
Too much emphasis on the theme and everything else suffers.

Music choices have been mostly awful this series. They need to give the music choice back to the pros ASAP.

Feeling really flat this Halloween - music is rubbish and the marking is way overmarked. Make up and costumes are amazing, as ever.

Music has been poor all year IMHO. Tonight was the worst though.

Time to go back to earlier series of Strictly and some of the music from those days - I don't mind some of the newer stuff, and they have to freshen things up which is fair enough, but if the timing isn't right why do they use it ? Some of the ballroom music choices have been terrible - is Jason Gillickson to blame because it surely can't be Dave Arch.

Who chooses the music, surely the dancing couple must be able to have a say?

I've no idea ! Used to be a mixture of Pro's choices and producers choices, but don't know what happens now. How long is it since we had a Frank Sinatra standard for a foxtrot - we used to get one practically every week and they worked brilliantly - haven't heard one for a long time now

Agree entirely with both of you. I've enjoyed some of the music choices this year but on the whole it's been pretty poor, and some of them have just been plain ridiculous.

They have been especially dire this year so far.

It's simple enough, if you don't like the music choices, then you must realise that they aren't aimed it people like you.

I'm trying to work out who some of the choices are aimed at.

I love that version of Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood.

Erm, I think the reason people dislike the music choices is because they are not appropriate for the dance being performed (wrong timing, wrong feeling etc), not because they personally don't appreciate the song!

Not at the people trying to learn to dance, thats for sure.

That version was a take on Santa Esmeralda's version. The full fifteen minute song is a real joy.

Odd is putting it mildly. I would say execrable.

The only song I really enjoyed was Daisy's tonight.

yes, odd music choices but that is the producers fault

scoring was all over the place too - Louise dreadfully over marked for what was, once again, a medicare dance - didn't deserve any 9's IMO

I'm so confused by Judge Rinder's and Oskana's theme and song.

The song 'Born this way' doesn't go with the theme of Butterfly's at all because you know, as any 6 year old could tell you, butterflies are born as caterpillars! Then neither the theme or the song had anything to do with Halloween.

The only sense I could make out of it is that they were originally supposed to be bats then at the last minuet someone realised Anastasia and Brendan were going to be Bats so was just like 'meh make them butterflies instead'.
