... evil genius more like.
Realising that it must be Ed coming up in the last slot, I knew it must have been chosen because it was either brilliant or entertainingly terrible, and somehow it was a mixture of both.
It was clear straight away that Ed's mincing style was in fact suited to what he was doing. The only question was was it really going to be Cha Cha?
Props to him for wearing all white so we could see the gory everything.
And just as good, the judges' reactions were priceless

Love, love loved it. Go ED - all my votes tonight. BBC light entertainment at its very "best".

I was just distracted throughout, I thought I could see Ed's Balls!

The routine did have a lot of content.

It did have some good bits.

But I agree it was very mincey...and weirdly entertaining. Got 2 of my votes! (Danny got a sympathy vote )

Katya always looks petrified during the show, as if she isn't sure whether it will be a triumph or disaster!

I picture him saying to himself "Not another Latin dance!"
Well, I'll just furking show them.
And he did.

I know he plays up to it but it occurred to me: why is it acceptable to ridicule and express fascinated horror at the body movements of an older man ('gory everything', practically every look and comment Craig gives), but if the people did the same to one of the older women, people would say they were being sexist, ageist, bodyist, etc?

People laughed at Ann Widdecombe but they didn't express the same borderline disgust about her body in motion, even though she was a worse dancer than Ed.

did you write Claire In The Community? I've always had a thing about Nali.

well done to katya too for not overplaying her role in this stupendous 'balls up' of a production.
I also thought that his VT 'starring' craig was the best.....not that it had much to beat tonight!

Oh Ed Ed Ed
That was just amazing on every level .
Quite a bit of cha cha cha in there .
Best VT of the night .
The weight he has lost ! (Heather dashes off to find a local dance class) .
His whole " I DON'T GIVE A CRAP IF YOU LIKE IT ! I'M DOING MY VERY BEST AND HAVING FUN ! " attitude .
I'm still smiling . What an end to a rather dull show dance and music wise .
Might not be the cha cha cha we see hot nubile young fillies do , but a cha cha cha none the less .

Best of all -------------------he broke our Craigy , .

Yes, entertainment at it's very best......

So bored with Louise !! Technically good - but there was no joy in that dance.

Really suprised by how much I like Ed.

Even if tonight turns out to be his and Katya's swan song, I've enjoyed every minute of their performances and tonight's was a tour de force, in my opinion. What a trouper!

Go Ed!

He looks like he is finally starting to relax and stopping being so stilted and uncomfortable. If he stays in he looks like he may actually improve. Tonight was his best dance.
Inseriousity.

I was slightly distracted thinking he'd lost so much weight.
I think Jeremy Vine's told him that the audience looks at the face and the judges look at the feet so he's really hamming it up and good for him.

After the last couple of weeks you can't really blame her

You've hit the nail on the head. I do like Louise but I felt very disconnected from their Charleston tonight.

As for Ed, well we all know he's never going to be the best technically, but after the last couple of routines I just really wanted him to get through it this week without any hiccups. Katya as always delivered with the choreography and Ed was back to his glorious best. I loved it.

Genius! I don't think I'll ever stop laughing at that dance. It's up there in the Pantheon of godlike Strictly dances.

I have to admit I have the same opinion I feel they have been a bit mean to Ed about his physical appearance.
