Jack Branning - Single father
So when Ronnie and Roxy leave will Jack be left to raise Ricky, Amy and Matthew by himself?
I suppose that would be good karma as until only recently he didn't really seem to care for any of his children. Or will he find someone he can dump them on? |

I'm pretty sure Jack will get lumbered with somebody before Ronnie leaves. Otherwise he'll bit a bit lonely...

At one point it seemed like she was being lined up for Mick.
![]() I think Mathew might go back to Charlie. Jack being a single dad would be good, with Ricky and Amy. |

Jack & Mick? Lol.
But seriously why is there no 35-45 gay male character at the moment? |

The idea of Jack Branning, struggling single father to his Mitchell brood on the lookout for a new blonde, doesn't fill me with joy.

I'm not sure it is necessary to line someone up BEFORE Ronnie leaves :s Surely it makes more sense after. Seems pretty likely she is being killed off given tweets etc... so makes more sense for him to be grieving and then find someone. Ronnie and him are happy, engaged and there is no need for him to cheat or time to build up an affair given she leaves in a few months. It would cheapen things and take away from whatever story they are planning, which I'm assuming is not affair related. The most logical exit scenario is one of Ronnie's past ill doings to catch up with her and put her indanger with either Roxy involved, put in the cross fire or even "saving Roxy" with either a death/deaths or sisters on the run (with me leaning towards deaths given Sam's recent retweets etc..).

I'd rather that Matthew gets taken by Charlie if Ronnie is killed off. The hatchet job DTC did on the character should hopefully be corrected by SOC. Charlie raised Matthew for months while Ronnie was in hospital and Jack's not his dad.
Only logical that Charlie's brought back after Ronnie and Roxy leave to tie up loose ends, telling Dot and Jack the truth about why he went off. Jack's not as unhinged like Ronnie so he'll probably understand, especially to be in Dot's good books. Jack can raise Amy and Richard as they are his own. |

It would be an interesting direction for his character.
Would Jack cope? Back in the 2011-2013 era, Roxy and Jack both looked after Amy, and we've never seen him on his own in the show, with his kids. I suspect Jack will be in a bad place after Ronnie and Roxy's exits. |

Maybe Jack could employ Whitney as a nanny to his children?

Same reason there is no Asian character over the age of sixty, or Australian character under fhe age of ten or a red headed character with wings.

It would be nice for Dot to take Matthew and settle with Charlie in Ireland if June is leaving. I don't think I could face her dying.

Jack being a single father and seen struggling would be brilliant. Since his return, they seem to have toned Jack's flirty-ness down so hopefully he's changed a bit and won't just be looking for the next woman!

Of course Charlie will take Matthew. They aren't about to keep a toddler on screen when there is no reason to. There's a reason you hardly ever see characters with young children, actually with their children. The younger the children, the less you see them, because it's much more convenient for the actors, crew, ect.
If the actor can't/won't/isn't invited to return, then Matthew will be reunited with Charlie off screen maybe via Dot. |

I'm fairly certain they are divorced already. Roxy pretty much said that's what he wanted when she spoke to him on the phone a year ago and divorces don't take that long when both parties want it.

I could see these two together. I always felt Whitney would work better with an older man. That's if he lives of course. There was a strong hint that the Mitchell sisters wouldn't be the only exits.
