If so, then we will have the Xmas week having 6 episodes, and from Thur-Tues EE will be shown every single day (6 episodes at least!)

We will know in a couple of weeks as schedules tend to be published mid November

Let's hope they slice it into 2 x 30mins not 1 x 60mins.

I prefer the 2 episodes with something in between.

OK BBC schedulers?

I have a feeling that there won't be a Christmas Eve episode on Saturday if Christmas is gonna be a bit more low-key as Jamie Borthwick said (I don't think this means it will be boring though). Although I can't remember if Xmas Eve episodes were a yearly tradition.

It's also more likely that there won't be a New Year's Eve episode on Saturday considering they didn't air one when it was on a Wednesday. However nothing can be confirmed until we see the schedule.

I wonder how the ratings will be for Xmas/New Year considering both are on Sunday.

Most likely. EastEnders has always been on for Christmas Eve & Christmas Day regardless of what days they fall on.

There wasn't an episode on New Year's Eve last year either and it fell on a Thursday (a usual EE day) http://ukchristmastv.weebly.com/bbc-2015.html

I shouldn't imagine that would make much difference really, Christmas Day is Christmas Day regardless of what day it is.

it will be on Christmas Day for sure but they may pull a week episode to make up for it. Doubt it will be on NYE but Ne Years Day is a dead cert (as an extra episode)
